Army instructor labels Evangelicals and Catholics as extremists

April 7, 2013

I first read about this story at Bunkerville so props are in order for finding it: During a briefing with reservists a United States Army instructor called Catholics and Evangelicals extremists and equated them to al Qaeda as potential threats.

The army is claiming this was the work of one man and was not reflective of the Army’s policy:

This slide was not produced by the Army and certainly does not reflect our policy or doctrine,” he said. “It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission

A rogue agent if you will, where have we heard that before? Oh yeah, that was how the Obama regime tried to categorize Fast and Furious when that scandal first broke and we now know that was a lie, but we are supposed to believe the regime now.

But is it a case of one man who over-stepped his bounds? After the Obama regime and DHS issued the now infamous right wing extremist report, which among other things labeled returning veterans as potential terrorists, one has to wonder if this was indeed passed down from on high.

And then when we couple this with the fact that Barack Obama derided Christians for clinging to their Bibles  and with the fact that the federal government is buying billions of rounds of hollow point ammunition (which cannot be used against a foreign enemy according to the Geneva Convention) we are left to wonder what the truth really is.

Is this simply a case of political correctness run amok or is there more to this story…..

No, candidate Obama did not deride Christians. Here’s how Christianity Today reported the incident:

“A political storm is brewing over Sen. Barack Obama’s recent statements. Last Sunday, Obama was explaining his difficulty with winning over working-class voters in Pennsylvania and the Midwest, saying they have become frustrated with economic conditions:

“And it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,” Obama said.

Later in the article, when asked about his statement, candidate Obama said:

“Obviously, if I worded things in a way that made people offended, I deeply regret that,” Obama said in a phone interview on Saturday with the Winston-Salem Journal. “But the underlying truth of what I said remains, which is simply that people who have seen their way of life upended because of economic distress are frustrated and rightfully so.”

“He continued, “People feel like Washington’s not listening to them, and as a consequence, they find that they can only rely on the traditions and the things that have been important to them for generation after generation. Faith. Family. Traditions like hunting. And they get frustrated.”

It was convenient for the ultra rightwing pundits to seize on the candidate’s comments and characterize them as “deriding” Christianity and Christians, but even a quick read of the quote in context makes plain that this is simply not the case.

And with all the time we’ve had to look at the quote, I think continuing to characterize it as derision aimed at Christians is bearing false witness.

Take good care, and may God bless us all!

Oh, so he was calling people who disagree with illegal immigration racists who cling to their Bibles out of frustration–that is so much better. Barack and Michelle harbor this bitterness toward a certain sect of Americans and he can try to explain it away any way he likes but he said what he said and the fact that it still comes up from time to time tells me that there is more truth to this than you care to admit.

Steve, you cannot even speak about the military in a harsh or unfavorable way if not they come at you when they find out. trust me i know they have done it to me…you cannot express your opinion or personal feelings towards them unless it is favorable or they brand you as the enemy. so much for freedom of speech…soon the military will be herding us like cows to pasture.

Thanks for the link… Sure, Christian families always deny gifts to their kids at Christmas, just for the reoord from some old posts:

President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious
Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) tells People magazine in the issue out Friday that he and his wife, Michelle, do not give Christmas or birthday presents to their two young daughters. (A quaint Muslim custom).

Ignorance spells bliss for Obama. He spits at you and then tells you how he understands you’re unhappy with phlegm in your face while never conceeding he’s the hocker. While this socialist vampire sucks the lifeblood from our economy, our treasury, our culture,,our traditions , our sacred institutions, the naked apologists so conditioned to justify Obama’s every move continue to rally behind him and deny what even the blindest among us should be able to see. When these fools are on the receiving end of one of the billions of hollow point bullets their messiah is warehousing to put down their rioting once the collapsed economy puts an end to food production and availability but instead spreads hunger in a land that once fed the world. Maybe they will pray to a new god to spare them since the old god they threw out with the bath water will not heed their cries.

While they follow him blindly he leads us slowly into serfdom and these people don’t even see it because they do not want to believe it. They will learn the hard way!
