The IRS demanded a list of donors to the Richmond Tea Party before it would grant tax exempt status
Once again we have to turn to the United Kingdom press in order to read about a scandal which the mainstream media in the United States should be covering.
According to this article it was over two years after the Richmond Tea Party applied for tax exempt status before the IRS sent the group a questionnaire asking, among other things, for a list of donors to the organization.
The agency wanted to know ‘the names of the donors, contributors, and grantors’ for every year ‘from inception to the present.’
It also demanded ‘the amounts of each of the donations, contributions, and grants and the dates you received them.’
‘How did you use these donations, contributions, and grants?’ the IRS asked. ‘Provide the details.’
And in addition to the names of board members, officers and employees, the nation’s taxing authorities insisted on knowing the names of everyone who helped the Richmond Tea Party without compensation.
‘Please identify your volunteers,’ the January 9, 2012 letter from the IRS read.
The agency also required the Virginia conservative group to provide copies of sections of its website that only its members can access.
According to this article it normally takes about nine months for an application to gain a response yet it is several years later and still some of these Tea Party groups are waiting for an answer.
Normally an application
for this kind of status takes 9 months, Dye explained.
In the case of Tea Party Patriots, the IRS followed up with a round of questions the group responded to a year ago.
“Almost every organization that applies for (c)(4) status is engaged in attempting to affect legislation and public policy. That is no different for Tea Party Patriots. There is really no reason why this should occur,” Dye said.
So why would the IRS be asking for a list of donors, contributors, and volunteers from these organizations if it was not for the purpose of creating a Nixonian style enemies list? And then there is that infamous right wing terrorist report released by the Department of Homeland Security several years ago, I guess we know who Barack Obama feels the real enemy is…..
Now we hear he was spying on the AP phone lines. We are in for some ride. This just may finish the msm idolation.

The hits just keep on coming. Hopefully the media will see the AP story as proof that they are not above Obama’s thuggery and this will finally turn them against him.

He was serious about rewarding friends and punishing enemies, wasn’t he?

He sure was! It can no longer be denied.

If there is a positive in this it’s shows that the Obama regime is afraid of us. They understand that if we as a nation just wake up their agenda collapses. They’re going after the ones who are awake.

That is an interesting way to look at it, I hadn’t thought about it like that before.

I can’t help but wonder how much more of these kinds of stories the Obama administration can take. There has clearly been a lot of things taking place behind closed doors. Things that should never have happened. If only the media would finally wake up and realize how Obama and company has been using them, maybe we could see some real change come about.

I have to think that there is only so much he can take. Perhaps the news about Holder spying on the AP will be enough to get other media outlets to realize they are not beyond his touch.

Stop the presses…all is well. Senators Carl Levin and John McCain will head an investigation into IRS gate. At least we know who and what Levin is but McCain, who is he and what is he? We won’t know until he unleashes his latest absurd prognostications. Will McCain maintain that Obama is a good man as is Eric Holder, betrayed by underlings? Expect the ridiculous and we won’t be disappointed.

Steve, I may have hit on something. The left wing members of congress are immune to criticism, but their field office is set up to help with specific problems.
I called my left wing rep (I am in California, what else is there?) and said I need help. I told her office I donated a lot of money to the local Tea Party, (maybe not that much, but they don’t need to know that) and that I wanted to know if I was on an IRS targeted list. I insisted they help me look into this. This let me say we needed a special prosecutor to look into the IRS because Holder couldn’t be trusted because of Bengazi and Fast and Ferious. Then, I was able to bring up the fact that the IRS is the attack dog of Obama care and that the IRS can no longer be trusted.
