Ex-IRS commissioner’s wife was actively involved in the Occupy Wall Street movement

 When Obamacare was on its path to the Supreme Court many on the left made the claim that because Justice Thomas’s wife was the founder of an anti-Obamcare group that he should be disqualified from sitting in on the case.

  In my opinion there was a legitimate argument to be made here but in the end I still believed Justice Thomas could be impartial while listening to the case. However the left politically indicted Justice Thomas for the actions of his wife, so if that was the case then isn’t it also the case now? So here we go.

    Doug Shulman was the commissioner of the IRS when it began targeting conservative groups in 2010 and we now know through the testimony of two of the lower level employees of the IRS that the targeting was ordered by someone in Washington D.C.

  We have now also learned a couple of interesting tidbits about Mr. Shulman’s wife Susan. It just so happens that Susan Anderson was actively involved in Barack Obama’s reelection campaign and was also  involved in the Occupy Wall Street movement, going so far as to recruit people to attend the protests, as well as other leftist causes to boot.

  And yet the left still claims that targeting a political opponent was not done for political reasons? That statement is laughable on its face! If Justice Thomas could be judged by the actions of his wife so too can Doug Shulman be judged at the time when conservative groups first began seeing increased scrutiny from the IRS.

  I guess we now know what Valerie Jarret was talking about when she said after the election it would be “payback time” and I guess we know what Barack Obama meant when he said he would “punish our enemies and reward our friends.”

  Make no mistake about it: This was not simply over the top campaign rhetoric, it was a reelection plan which had been set in the works well before the election. From the whole Occupy movement to the IRS scandal this seems to have been orchestrated at the highest levels of our government.

    Yet all we hear is that he was a Bush appointee. Gee. I almost have the talking points down.

    A democrat I believe appointed by Bush so he could be seen as making nice with the left, the end game being that these scum would warm up to him. And we thought Bush was just a drunken sailor out on the town spending all ouroney. It’s a great feeling knowing we of the conservative ilk are being squeezed from both sides.

      Yes Peter that is exactly what happened. Bush thought that after a close election he could reach out to the other side to show unity. Didn’t work out so well, did it? I hope we learned our lesson.

    .The IRS doesn’t work in a vaccum. It is part of the Treasury Department, It is time to supoena former Treasury SecretaryTimothy Geithner and find out what he knew.

    That the left does not see the utterly complete hypocrisy of their position is unfathomable to me, flabbergasting. Conflict of interest applies to everyone equally. It is not dependent upon the politics of the group raising the objection nor the person against whom the objection is raised.

    This is similar to a story I read today regarding obamacare and special consideration being given to a specific group. Our laws cannot, must not treat individuals and/or groups differently. If one group can be charged higher health insurance rates based on their freely chosen unhealthy lifestyle (smokers), then all groups can be charged higher insurance rates based on their freely chosen unhealthy lifestyle (heavy drinkers, obese, LGBT). That’s what insurance is for. Based on the pre-calculated risk assessment of lifestyles, behaviors, driving record, professions – insurance companies offer policies. The safer, less risky you are, the lesser rate you pay. The riskier you are, the more you pay. Decisions must not be made based on the approval/disapproval of a lifestyle/behavior by a political party.

    We are created equal, with equal Rights, to be protected equally by our government.

      Very well said Laura! I think the left does understand they are being hypocrites on this issue but I just do not think they care!

        Steve, you are correct about some on the left understanding that they are being hypocritical but don’t care OR they actually believe it’s ok for them to be because their cause or opinion is sooooo just. I think that group is made up of the higher ups in the party, the policy makers. However, I think most on the left (the common folk) truly do not see their positions as hypocritical, they are actually surprised when someone accuses them of hypocrisy. They just don’t see it.

        You are probably right about that. There is no doubt in my mind that the people in the party know they are being hypocritical but they do not care because they believe the end justifies the means. The voters might think this is okay because it is righting some wrong they feel has been done to them and don’t even realize how wrong it is.
