The Obama regime is collecting the phone records of millions of Americans, didn’t he promise to stop this policy when he was running for president in 2008?

June 6, 2013

We have recently learned that the Obama regime went to the FISA court and received permission to spy on the phone logs of millions of Americans every day. This news should come as quite a surprise to Obama voters because it I am not mistaken when he was running for president in 2008 he promised to end the domestic spying program authorized under the PATRIOT Act when George Bush was president.  In fact this was a major part of his 2008 campaign.

Here is what he had to say back then:

That means no more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens. No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime. No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest a misguided war. No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient. That is not who we are. And it is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists. The FISA court works. The separation of powers works. Our Constitution works. We will again set an example for the world that the law is not subject to the whims of stubborn rulers, and that justice is not arbitrary.

Once again Barack Obama’s actions do not quite align with his propaganda, but in this case not only did he not end President Bush’s misguided PATRIOT Act wire-tapping, but he seems to have expanded it to include calls which do not involve a foreign nation. Domestic calls are also being targeted in this policy.

It is interesting to note at this point that the call logs Barack Obama is spying on are business accounts which leaves us to wonder whom Barack Obama feels is the real enemy. After all, the IRS has already admitted and apologized for inappropriately and wrongly targeting conservative groups before the 2012 election so what exactly is he looking for here?

Getting millions of phone records just in the hope of finding some patterns is over kill and I suspect illegal. But the Obama administration’s reluctance to profile leaves them with only massive intrusions such as this. But what is most troubling about this spying efforts is the fact that this information will be misued and ultimately end up in the hands of political operatives in the administration, just as the IRS data was. Even more disturbing is the breaking story on PRISM and the dangers of that information being used against political enemies. We are moving dangerously close to tyranny and an Orwellian state.

There is no doubt in my mind this info will be used much in the same manner a in which the IRS targeted political enemies of the Obama regime and this news should have all Americans worried!

The Washington Post has published a remarkable report showing that the National Security Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been monitoring the central servers of major Internet companies — Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube and Apple — and “extracting audio, video, photographs, e-mails, documents and connection logs that enable analysts to track a person’s movements and contacts over time.”

Why did a government source leak information of this program, dubbed “PRISM,” to the Post? What follows is perhaps the most chilling paragraph I’ve read to date about U.S. government surveillance:

“Firsthand experience with these systems, and horror at their capabilities, is what drove a career intelligence officer to provide PowerPoint slides about PRISM and supporting materials to The Washington Post in order to expose what he believes to be a gross intrusion on privacy. “They quite literally can watch your ideas form as you type,” the officer said.”
Talk about losing our freedoms. BO is Stalin reincarnated and on steroids

I heard that as well but haven’t written about it yet. It appears as if the Obama regime is monitoring every single move we make.

Dangerous times. Attacks from the right and left.

Dangerous times indeed! The left and the right cannot be trusted any more and that is why it is time for the New Federalist Party!

An armed man is a citizen whereas an unarmed man is a subject. Or put another way, an armed citizenry will get to the point where they won’t take this abuse anymore and agents of the state will find that engaging in immoral and unconstitutional actions will more likely than not result in them being shot and killed by those whom they are oppressing, whereas an unarmed citizenry that finally gets to the point where they can’t take it anymore will have no choice but to roll over and take it-hard. History and the current world are replete with these kinds of societies! What are we waiting for? How much more of a clarion call do we require before we wake up and before we take action? Must we literally find ourselves, or a loved one, dead, or nearly beaten to death, or unjustly imprisoned, before we are ready to take action?!!
When will America wake up? These power hungry psychopaths are stealing our money to fund their oppression. We are paying for theses rich, elite megalomaniacs to oppress us! It’s flat out craziness!
    It has to stop!!

It almost seems as if Obama is trying to antagonize us to the point where we react hoping to quell the opposition once and for all!

So then the logical extension of using this elicit electronic surveillance of we the people would be the ability to stop shitheads like the Boston Marathon executioners. Obviously they weren’t Tea Party members so they were ignored despite the intel and the Russians waring the intelligence community. The other logical extension is that conservatives are a threat to Obama while the would be terrorists are patriots. Nice going ass holes.

Apparently they were also not Verizon users either, but then again they could be because the Obama regime was focused on citizens.

Hey Steve you think maybe they had Obamaphones to go along with the welfare, food stamps and section 8 housing?

    • June 8, 2013 2:00 pm

Obamaphones? Are you talking about the phone company program to rpovide poor people with barebones cellphones and a whole hour of free time per month? Just for the record, that program started during the Bush administration – just like the collection of metadata that Steve posted about.

Take good care, and may God bless us all!

Two things – first, this program apparently started in 2006, with the full knowledge and consent not only of the President, but also both houses of Congress. The warrant was legally obtained (albeit secretly), in accordance with the provisions of the FISA court (and the PATRIOT Act as well, I believe).

Second, an agent of the IRS apologized for its actions regarding conservative groups prior to the 2012 election, not the 2008 election.

Take good care, and may God bless us all!

It says 2012, do you receive email updates when I post? I corrected the mistake right after it was posted, just wondering if the body of my posts show up in the emails.

Democrats and republicans alike are poverty pimps in on the intergenerational government dependency game. I’m sure you’re excited with how well The Great Society elevated the poor these past 48 years.
