Here is the open thread for Sunday, June 30th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues may arise during the course of the day.

If you are disgusted with the state of politics in Washington today please check out the New Federalist Party and see what we are up to. Currently the first twenty articles of the platform have been released and we are working on the last thirteen. If you like what you see please feel free to make a donation, no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated as we strive to reach our goals.
This week’s musical selection is an extended live version of a song called ‘Do It Clean’ by the band ‘Echo and the Bunnymen’ recorded sometime in the ’80’s. It is interesting to see a roadie run out to Ian McCulloch in the middle of the song and hand him a cigarette, you just don’t see that anymore.
Enjoy!

Hello Steve, Good Sunday (we say like that around here, only with Sunday)..
Well whatever That was a hit back then..and I still like this song

It is an uphill battle indeed! With the money pouring in on both sides the average American has not the money nor the voice to stop this. It is going to happen whether we like it or not.

Immigration will take a back seat to the current dilemma: How to pin the rise in student loan interest rates on he republicans. All things being equal, the republicans will do their best to play the part of the insensitive stooges refusing to work on a bi-partisan basis with the democrats’. The accidental tourist will pontificate on behalf of his congressional bro’s unable to help the students due to those mean republicans.

So far the Democrats have been silent on this issue and I am surprised. Perhaps it is because Reid killed a bipartisan compromise which would have kept the rates down, but most likely they are saving it for the next election.
