Open thread for Sunday, July 28th: Somebody’s Watching Me
Here is the open thread for Sunday, July 28th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles as well as discussing whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
As always you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking on the links to the right–I often share articles which I do not have time to write about at both locations. You can also subscribe to America’s Watchtower by email and never miss a post again.
Last week the House voted to allow the NSA to continue its data-mining program on law abiding American citizens because they felt it more important to protect their campaign donations than it was to protect the privacy of the American citizens. This is just another reason why it is time to take a serious look at the New Federalist Party.
You can check out the New Federalist Party’s Facebook page here, and you can also view or download the platform to peruse at your leisure. If you like what you see we are currently seeking both donations and state delegates. If you are interested in becoming a delegate please drop a comment here and I will provide you with the information on what you must do to become a delegate.
Is the spirit of the NSA and the House vote this week I give you the musical selection of the week: Rockwell’s ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’ from, fittingly, the year 1984.
Here are the opening lyrics to the song:
I’m just an average man
With an average life
I work from nine to five
Hey, hell, I pay the price
All I want is to be left alone
In my average home
But why do I always feel
Like I’m in the twilight zone
And (I always feel like)
(Somebody’s watching me)
And I have no privacy
Whooooa-oh-oh
(I always feel like)
(Somebody’s watching me)
But then he closes the song with the following lyrics:
And I don’t feel safe anymore
Oh, what a mess
I wonder who’s watching me now
(Who)
The IRS
He sounds like a man ahead of his time! Enjoy:

Good morning, all! I thought I would share this little tidbit from good old Governor Quinn in my great state of Illinois:
http://watchdog.org/97752/il-comptroller-withholds-lawmaker-salaries-while-calling-quinns-order-blackmail/
It seems that once an Illinois Democrat, always an Illinois Democrat! If you read the article, you will see that there is the usual blackmail, bribe and extortion…in other words, “Business as usual”. It is no wonder that Illinois is in such bad shape. I put in an earlier post that they are behind by a year on paying bills for insurance, this is a big problem for those that have state funded insurance (Cigna, not Medicaid) with State jobs and some Universities (of which was mom Mom’s case), my Mom’s bills from back last year in Aug. thru Oct…when she died, have still not been paid…I am still fighting to get them paid…Cigna processed them as being paid, but the good old Gov. Quinn is not cutting of the checks. How many companies do you know of that will wait a year and how many people do you know that can pay out of their pocket to cover all of them? It seems from what I have found out, the “fiscal year” plays into it and Gov. Quinn is playing games. We have plenty of money for all the welfare and Medicaid and free phones and EBT cards(food stamps) and all the rest of the subsidies, but people that paid in for years for insurance coverage are the ones that are screwed….go figure.
This is how Illinois works and people don’t see that is how this Administration is working, as well.
Well, just a short read, but worth it.

So does this mean he can theoretically withhold their pay until they pass any legislation that he wants? That is what it sounds like to me. That would be one hell of a precedent: do what I want or I won’t pay you! And to think this is where Obama learned to play politics.

Yep, that is what it means…any wonder why Obama feels he can do what he wants, as well? This states government sucks. The way I see it, BOTH parties are getting the same treatment from Gov. Quinn, not just the Republicans….you know what they say when it starts having an effect on the others, then maybe something will change. We coined the phrase here in Illinois of “Pay to Play”, remember with then-Governor Blagojevich? There is a “price” for anything you want if you want it badly enough! When Gov. Quinn took over, he was going to be the most transparent and open Gov. the state has seen…he was going to open the doors of the Gov. mansion for the unwashed masses. Well, how things change and I mean they do NOT change, but he said they would. We did not expect them to anyway, so we were not really disappointed. So, what the Administration is doing, is old hat to those of us in his “home state”.

I sure do remember pay to play! This is the way it works in Washington as well on both sides of the aisle. That is how Obamacare got passed, people simply held out for the bribes and then once they got what they wanted the bill was passed.

Apparently the NSA is just the tip of a huge intelligence iceberg. According to an article about a new book “A Government of Wolves” which was featured on Huckabee a network of federal spy centers exist.
The author states “Virtually every state has a ‘fusion center’ monitoring everything from Internet activity and web searches to text messages, phone calls and emails. This data is then fed to government agencies, which are now interconnected: the CIA to the FBI, the FBI to local police.”On the heels of a scathing U.S. Senate investigation, 77 federally funded anti-terrorist centers are being branded “pools of ineptitude.” HS!
We have moved in the last 25 years to a police state. Forget any candidate offered by the National Republican Committee. All Rep who fail to garner a x% (this needs to be decided) conservative rating need to be primaried in 2014. There are too many Dem Lite Reps.
