Obamacare: Healthcare reform will cost Delta Airlines $100,000,000 in 2014 alone
I found this story over at Conservative Hideout so a hat tip is in order for Matt, he has been doing great work at exposing the ill-effects of Obamacare and everyone should check out what he is up to.
Delta Airlines is estimating that Obamacare will cost the company $100,000,000 in 2014 alone as it tries to comply with the unafforable care act.
More troubling, Delta notes it designed a specific insurance plan for its pilots. But because of “cadillac tax” rules, Delta is going to have to scrap that plan because, though it meets the needs of Delta’s pilots, it runs afoul of government regulations relating to the extravagance of plans.
According to Delta, in 2014 Obamacare will cost the company at least $38 million in direct costs and that is only the beginning. With added medical inflation, Delta claims “the cost of providing health care to our employees will increase by nearly $100,000,000 next year.” A $100 million increase thanks in large part to Obamacare and ancillary cost increases derived therefrom. Yes, I have the letter. From the letter:
The ACA requires large employers to pay an annual fee of $63 per covered participant in 2014. For Delta’s roughly 160,000 enrolled active and retired employees and their family members, this represents more than $10 million added to the cost of providing health care next year. As we discussed, this fee, which is meant to help stabilize the state exchanges as they get started, provides absolutely zero direct benefit to our participants. It is, essentially, a direct subsidy from us and our employees to those who participate in the exchanges.
It is hard to imagine, in an industry already struggling in the aftermath of September 11th, any scenario in which Delta is going to be able to stay in business when faced with these additional costs–unless the government rushes in to save Delta from the problem it created in the first place.
This, of course, is not surprising to all of us who predicted that Obamacare was designed to destroy the private insurance industry with the end goal of creating a single-payer system with the government in control of the healthcare industry. Everything is working according to plan…..

Wanna bet these airline corporate
biggies along with the unions drank the Obama Kool Aid in 2008 and 2012?

It is hard to feel bad for them because they are getting what they deserve. They supported it because they didn’t think it would affect them, so now they can live with it like the rest of us.

Get use to it. With millions more being insured under the Affordable Care Act, the cost of almost everything will rise—airline tickers to whoppers will be effected. Just a little here and a little there. But when added together the cost to the average ameican will be thousands, even for those who think they are getting “free meidical care”. Everyone, from top to bottom will pay and there will be no free-loaders. But then most won’t see this and will continue to be the mindless zombies walking through Obamaland.

The question is, how many people are even going to realize this will be due to Obamacare?

Despite the endless conga lines at the Planned Parenthood abortion mills the unwed bimbos will shit out an endless supply of cannon fodder so the dependency class can self perpetuate and keep such solid programs as Obamacare rolling along even after its namesake has moved on to the big money.

Thanks for the linkage Steve.
It’s amazing that there is anyone out there that is still surprised by this. We were all warning that this law was going to wreck things like nothing else. It didn’t take any special insight of psychic ability-only a grasp of the obvious.
Now, these people have to live with the readily apparent consequences of their Obama vote.

You are welcome Matt! It is hard to feel bad for these people because they are getting what they deserve but it is too bad they are going to take us all down with them.
