Open thread for Sunday, September 8th: The Last Day of Summer

September 8, 2013

Here is the open thread for Sunday, September 8th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

As usual you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the world. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.

Please check out what the New Federalist Party has been up to by clicking on the link to the right. On the NFP Facebook page you will find a link to the party platform. Check it out and if you like what you see we are currently looking for donations and delegates to the states for the convention.

For my musical selection I had intended to use something more controversial, but Syria will still be an issue next week so perhaps I will use it then. Well, at least in these parts the weather is turning. The nights are getting quite cold and the days are not as hot, so I have decided to post a song by The Cure from the underrated ‘Bloodflowers’ CD entitled ‘The Last Day of Summer.’

The ‘Bloodflowers’ CD was the followup to the much maligned ‘Wild Mood Swings.’ While ‘Wild Mood Swings’ had many clunkers there were also some wonderful songs on it. But the band rebounded and silenced the critics who thought their best days were behind them with the release of ‘Bloodflowers.’ ‘Bloodflowers’ is one of my favorite Cure CDs and they have failed to come even close to reproducing such a strong effort in either of their followup attempts.

‘The Last day of Summer’ is a beautiful yet desperate song of love lost and dreams unfulfilled and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have since its release in 2000.

Nothing I am
Nothing I dream
Nothing is new
Nothing I think or believe in or say
Nothing is true

It used to be so easy
I never even tried
Yeah it used to be so easy…

But the last day of summer
Never felt so cold
The last day of summer
Never felt so old
Never felt so…

All that I have
All that I hold
All that is wrong
All that I feel for or trust in or love
All that is gone

It used to be so easy
I never even tried
Yeah it used to be so easy…

But the last day of summer
Never felt so cold
The last day of summer
Never felt so old
The last day of summer
Never felt so cold

Never felt so…

This is what goes on in Illinois. I know it happens in other states, but it has become the “norm” here. Any wonder why this Administration pulls what it does?

But, but, but, I thought there was no such thing as voter fraud! 😉

this is just plain and simple FRAUD! Taking money and putting it in their own pockets for their own use. How can they do it? THIS IS ILLINOIS! Who pays that much attention! It is almost like it is expected, so they do it. While our state is BROKE, they take our hard earned tax payer money and have fun with it. Shameful!

What really gets me is how bold they are becoming!
