Harry Reid refuses to fund veteran programs

October 3, 2013

Yesterday the Democrats and the mainstream media tried to use sick children as political pawns by claiming that because Republicans refused to fund the government children with cancer were not able to get their treatments.

But when Republicans passed a resolution to fund the NIH Harry Reid refused to do so. When asked by a reporter why he wouldn’t vote to help even one child with cancer he responded by saying “why would we want to do that?”  He put politics ahead of the children which is precisely what he is claiming the Republicans are doing.

He also attacked the House Republicans for trying to fund the more critical parts of the Federal government one piece of legislation at a time by asking “what gives them the right” to do this? Mr. Reid apparently does not know that the Constitution is what gives the House of Representatives the power to do what they are attempting to do. Or, he does know and he either does not care or he thinks most people do not know this.

  We move on:

Today the House voted to fund the national parks, paying reservists, and funding veteran services but again Senate Democrats–the new party of no–blocked all these measures.

Democrats like to claim they are for the children, and they like to claim they support the military but when they had the chance to support both they decided to play politics because they feel in the end they will gain for it. They need the American people to feel a little pain if they want to get their way, and they are doing everything in their power to make this shutdown as painful as possible.

My bet is they want us to default. Then Obama can step in with another executive order. He wants to see the market tank. He and Reid want anything and everything bad to happen to our country. I don’t see a way out. The Sunday talkies will be all doom and gloom with jack lieu. ‘Sp’

I agree, they do want Americans to suffer to advance their agenda. Yesterday Obama went out there and rattled the market when he should have been trying to calm it and he did it on purpose. Look for him to use the 14th amendment to raise the debt ceiling on his own,if that happens we will have a constitutional crisis on our hands.

If dirty dingy dickweed Harry closed Nellis Airforce Base he would still win re-election. The only way this arrogant egocentric degenerate will leave the senate is to assume room temperature and be carried out feet first ; and he knows it. The MSM and his electorate will protect him to the end. He has license to do and say anything will complete immunity in the genre of Ted The Swimmer, Chris Dodd and Barney The Frank. He is as they were untouchable.

You are right, Reid knows there is nothing he can say or do that will lose him reelection and that is where his arrogance and condescension comes from.

Some times I think we are wasting our time, Steve. I saw a poll today that showed 44% blame the Republicans, 37% blame the Democrats, and 17% blame both parties. How in the hell can 44% blame the Republicans? We can’t fix stupid, my friend.

To answer your question as to how…
I believe the majority will blame Republicans, because as much as some people like to deride the mainstream media, they DO have influence upon public opinion – and the media is nearly unanimous in putting this entirely at the feet of the 80 Tea Party House members.

The MSM does have sway and while it is not as great as it once was it still exists.

N owe cannot but I still think the Democrats thought more people would blame the Republicans, and if the Senate continues to deny funding to these various programs I think even more people will start to blame the Democrats.
