Government shutdown: The National Mall will be open for a pro-amnesty rally

October 7, 2013

We have all seen the images of the WWII veterans trying to attend the WWII monument and the Iwo Jima monument and the barricades which were preventing them from what could possibly be their last chance to visit the monuments. We have also seen the Obama regime reinforce the blockades (too bad he didn’t do this in Benghazi) in order to insure these veterans could not visit the monument. The Obama regime even went so far as to call in the police to harass the veterans when they refused to take no for an answer.

This was the sickening act of a belligerent president hellbent on making the shutdown as painful as possible on the American people in an attempt to gain sympathy for his position. And it isn’t only the veterans who have been targeted by the Obama regime for they are shutting down open air parks and monuments all across the country, while private businesses which operate at no cost to the government are being forced to close because they are on federal land.

But as sickening as all of this is, what is even more sickening is this story:

While the National Mall is closed to most of the American people there is one group which is going to be allowed to hold a rally on that site tomorrow. While denying WWII veterans the chance to view their monuments the Park Service has given the green light to a pro-amnesty rally at the National Mall.

If you support Democrat causes it seems as though there is a different set of rules for you. This event just happens to be partially sponsored by the SEIU, a favorite special interest group of the Democrats, so the event will be allowed to take place even though the National Mall is supposedly closed due to the government shutdown.

But just to add fuel to the fire, and spit in the faces of the American people and the WWII veterans, 30 Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, are planning on attending this rally, citing the group’s first amendment rights.

Suddenly the party which used the IRS to target conservative groups gives a damn about the first amendment!? If you still believe that none of the parks and monuments were shut down for purely vindictive political reasons I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn, but that will probably be shut down next…..

Thanks again my friend, there can no longer be any doubt that all of these closings are politically motivated and designed to inflict as much damage as possible.

If all this pettiness doesn’t blow up in Obama’s face, our country is truly lost. I wish that veterans would fill the mall the day of the amnesty rally and make themselves heard!

The longer this shutdown goes the more likely it is that it is going to blow up in Obama’s face, at least that is what I think and am hoping for…..

Don’t count on anything blowing up in floppy ears’ face. Here is a microcosm of what the voters, the people in this country are concerned and preoccupied with: while NYC and the nation creeps towards decay and chaos on all fronts the NYC mayoral candidates, one republican and one democrat, are vying for the title of most supportive of same sex marriage and legalizing marihuana. In NJ ‘s special election to fill the now dead senator Lautenberg ‘s seat, Newark mayor Cory Booker whose city is vying with Chicago for murder capital, 15+% unemployment, 50+% dropout rate, taxes through the roof, leads proven fiscal conservative Steve Lonegan by double digits. We are a stupid and disconnected people. War veterans be damned , Viva Zapata!!!

Steve, I also hold on to hope for the turn around of this country. But for the moment, the pain is not so sever that people think it affects them. We have become a voyeuristic society that has been wonderfully trained to blame others for our problems, demand that someone else shoulder the burden of our existence, and sadly, we have been conditioned to watch the media portray suffering as entertainment that is happening to someone else. As long as our iPhone and twitter account keeps working, so long as the crisis has not landed in our own back yard, then we, the nation of lemmings, will continue to shake our heads and then return to the text we were about to send. I see it as two curves on an intersect course: The descending curve that is the health, moral fabric, and sanity of our nation and the ascending curve of individual suffering and awakening awareness. When they finally do intersect, something big will happen. But until then, it is up to us to keep pointing out the obvious to those who can’t think for them selves.

Unfortunately you are right; people are distracted by other things which aren’t nearly as important. People will not even pay attention until these policies hit them personally and they they will take notice but by that time it may be too late.

I think most people blame the Rep for the shutdown. The Rep establishment and their pudits are opposed to Sen. Cruz and are opposed to the shutdown but are poorly informing the public as to what is happening. This group of elitist wanted to go to the Dem with their hat in hand. The Rep are terrible at messaging. They need some young tech savvy people to help. Here is an anti ObamaCare ad http://optout.org/ why aren’t the Rep able to do this?

Normally I would agree with everything you said, but I think the longer this plays out the better it will be for the Republicans because people will begin to realize that the government being shut down really isn’t that big of a deal. I do agree with you on the Republicans ineptitude at messaging and this is compounded with a media that is all too willing to carry the water for the Democrats.

I agree with you that there hubris should catch up with them. I think this is a real gift. We need visuals. This will be a good one. Now throw in some of the bikers as well and we could have a rumble. Let them deny the bikers a permit.

Yes, we need to pound this home. Show the veterans turned away and then show the illegals holding their rally, and then remind the people Muslims were allowed to march while bikers weren’t. There is a winning message here if the Republicans can get it together.

…and your point is…? Of course Obama rewards those who worship him and punishes those of us who don’t. All shut-down sufferers are treated equal, “some are just more equal than others”.

Love the Animal Farm quote. That little book is a great tool to give to a Lemming of the regime who has just begun to question but not so awake that they can as yet think for them selves. It is a non threatening, short book that won’t over tax their bumper sticker mentality.

Exactly, they should have enough focus to make it through that book and they could learn quite a bit from it.

Don’t get your hopes up about this blowing up on Barry. I’m surrounded by libs every day and as far as they’re concerned the Repubs have shut down the government and everyone else has universal healthcare so why not us. Collective deer in the headlights and that;s the way they want it.

These people are not going to realize how bad Obamacare is until it hits them personally, and when they do realize it it will be too late to do anything about it.

Every one mark well the Senators and Congressmen who appear at this rally. Then provide that info to their opponents in their next campaign, letters to editors, over and over and over from as many different people as possible. I know this is mostly a stop gap and that much more than elections are needed for this country to survive, but it is a start. And by touching their position and income others will take notice.

If it’s supposed to be closed it should be closed.

The only upside to things like this is Americans will see the truth behind what is really going on.

Well, I guess this rally leaves no doubt of what Obama and his administration thinks of American People, does it? There should be plenty of pissed off people today after that rally, but the media will play it down, the best they can. I am so angry and disgusted with what they are doing, it would be very hard to put in to words the emotional toll it is taking on me. I would never have imagined OUR Government would be doing what it is to us. I would never have imagined that IF it happened that it would be allowed to go this far. I also would never have imagined that there would be people that would still stick with their party even though it is going to affect them as well as the rest of us. This world has become an evil place since this administration has taken it hostage. It is not only us that is being affected, it has serious repercussions all over the world. I guess we need to look at the BIG PICTURE of all the damage it has done. A few Congress people being arrested is just for show, so the media can focus on that and get the focus off the important stuff. Smoke and mirrors!

I am there with you; this is beginning to drain me of all my energy. To see what has happened to this nation over the last several years leave me more sad than any other emotion I can feel at this point.
