Obamacare: Insurers report multiple errors with the people who have actually been able to sign up for healthcare on the exchanges

October 18, 2013

The problems with the Obamacare roll out have been well documented by the blogoshere yet little reported by the mainstream media, which found a convenient distraction in the government shutdown–a shutdown which nobody was affected by other than the non-essential government workers and those whom the president chose purposely to hurt–but now that the shutdown is over we are starting to see more reports trickle out about how bad Obamacare is already turning out to be.

We all have read the stories in the blogoshpere of people not being able to navigate the website and having problems enrolling in mandated coverage, but the problems go much deeper for it turns out the people who are unable to sign up on the healthcare exchanges may be the lucky ones. Obamacare isn’t as bad as we thought it was, it is worse and it is only just beginning.

Insurers say the federal health-care marketplace is generating flawed data that is straining their ability to handle even the trickle of enrollees who have gotten through so far, in a sign that technological problems extend further than the website traffic and software issues already identified.

  So, what are the problems?

Emerging errors include duplicate enrollments, spouses reported as children, missing data fields and suspect eligibility determinations, say executives at more than a dozen health plans.

The glitches are so bad that one state actually had to hire temporary workers in order to help resolve all the problems and that is really saying something considering so few people have been able to sign up to date. Barack Obama claimed that the Affordable Care Act would create jobs, apparently these are the jobs he was talking about.

This proves once again that there is no problem so great that the government cannot make it worse…..

Peter, I do get to keep my plan, and I do get to keep my doctor (and least so far).. however not only am I not saving 2500.00 on my plan, it’s going to cost me 48% more, plus my deductibles have gone up another 1000 for myself, 3000 for my family, and I have no clue what any of my copays are going to be yet…. Yea I’m happy…. not.

Obamacare isn’t what we were told it was going to be, but of course we knew this all along. Perhaps people are going to have to feel this pain for themselves before they finally realize it needs to be repealed. The problem is by that point we will not be able to repeal it.

We cannot repeal it now, Steve. At best we can chip away a little at a time to slow it down. We know once something is set in motion with the government, it has so many tentacles that we will never find it all. Our insurance will go up for the retirees from $50 a month to $450 a month. Am I happy about that, HELL NO! So far we have not been told we cannot keep our doctor, but imagine that is coming. I look for, in the end, we will have to take a number and wait in line for them to call us and give us an appointment. After that, who knows what will happen to us Baby Boomers.
There are not enough in Congress that have the ability to stand up to the corruption that we now know is there and in our faces. They used to try and hide it, but now it is obvious and they don’t care. They are running and feeding off the arrogance of Obama and his Administration. The rallies in DC have only been a minor inconvience to this Administration, they are on a fast track to take our country down as quickly as they can.

You are right, repeal is now off the table forever and we have the cowardly leadership of the Republican party to thank for it. I have been saying it for awhile and I still think it is true; the Republican leadership wants Obamacare implemented because they think they can win more votes by running against it than they can by repealing it.
You can keep your doctor for now, but eventually you could be forced into a plan which your doctor does not accept, that is a little fact that Obama likes to ignore.
You are right about their arrogance also, they used to hide how they really feel but now the are emboldened and no longer feel the need to hide it. Hopefully their arrogance will be their downfall.

“This proves once again that there is no problem so great that the government cannot make it worse…..”

I think that must be the government’s motto. “Yes, we can……make things worse.”

I read one report yesterday that estimate it would be 2017 before all the ObamaCare software problems will be resolved. Another Obama crony got a whole lot richer, I would bet.

Three years to fix this and yet people still are forced to buy a product from this website! It makes no sense, maybe people will begin to realize Ted Cruz was right.

Here are the estimates as to what the new insurance rates may be for 2014. If you are single it makes no sense to sign up for ACA you would do better having a medical savings account and put your money there.

I heard an call-in vid where the person spoke w/ a Rep. of Unaffordable healthcare and the Rep stated it wasn’t a ‘product’. We’re told it’s a tax (SCOTUS), but isn’t it a product as well? not just a program? http://www.minnpost.com/health/2013/09/obamacare-worst-new-product-rollout-memory

I like your last sentence. Reminds me of what President Reagan once said.

I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

Clearly, Obamacare was not technically ready to be rolled out to the public on October 1. Any sane person would have admitted that and held off, wanting to get it right. Of course, no one can accuse this administration of being sane. The goose has been cooked and the American people are the ones in the fire.

A great Reagan quote and all so true. All signs now point to the fact Obama knew the website would not be ready and went forward anyway.

Goes hand and hand with the EBT card ‘glitch’ They don’t want to expose the truth of the cost ~ hidden and secretive is better for their takeover agenda.

There is no doubt in my mind this “glitch” was not an accident, the feds just wanted to show how powerful they are and how many people are dependent on them.

Why let people know the truth of it resulting in exposing all the lies!
