Study shows Americans have fewer healthcare choices under Obamacare
Besides the big if you like your insurance you can keep it lie Barack Obama also promised the American people they could expect to see healthcare premiums drop by an average of $2,500 a year because Obamacare would create more options on the free market:
My guiding principle is, and always has been, that consumers do better when there is choice and competition,” Obama said during a joint session of Congress in 2009. “That’s how the market works. Unfortunately, in 34 states, 75 percent of the insurance market is controlled by five or fewer companies. In Alabama, almost 90 percent is controlled by just one company.”
“And without competition, the price of insurance goes up and quality goes down. And it makes it easier for insurance companies to treat their customers badly — by cherry-picking the healthiest individuals and trying to drop the sickest, by overcharging small businesses who have no leverage, and by jacking up rates.”
His “guiding principle” is the free market so that is why he decided the government needed to become involved in the healthcare industry? That notion is contradictory and is laughable on its face but that is not the point of this post.
As we have seen in virtually every story on this issue, the American people are not only paying $2,500 less in premiums but in fact they have seen their premiums rise since Obamacare has been enacted. This was another great lie repeated over and over again by Barack Obama.
And now we are finding out why; people actually have fewer options under Obamacare if this study is accurate:
According to the Heritage Foundation’s Alyene Senger, in most states the number of carriers on that state’s exchange are less than the number that sold on the individual market in the state.
Senger, in an analysis of all 50 states, found that more than half of America’s 3,135 counties would experience an exchange with two or fewer insurance carriers and 78 percent would have a choice of three or less carriers. Ninety-four percent of counties would have a choice of five or fewer.
This is not news to those of us who have opposed Obamacare from the beginning because we have been trying to tell the American people this was the goal all along and now we are seeing it come to fruition.
The goal of Obamacare has always been to usher in less competition and in fact the Obama regime is only interested in having one healthcare provider–and that is the Federal government.
So far thing are going according to plan…..

It should not be called Healthcare because all you are buying is a worthless piece of paper. The next catastrophe will occur when the OCare policy holders try to get treatment. Many hospitals are talking bold now about not accepting OCare but they dependent on maintaing certificates of need and licenses to operate. Just watch how quickly the State and Fed agencies yank their chains. They will be forced to capitulate and hand over the keys. Every hospital should be fearing the nationalization of their facilities. BO’s plan is to destroy America and he is getting close to his goal.
