Obamacare: Kathleen Sebelius “urges” insurance companies to cover people who haven’t paid for their plans

December 14, 2013

One of the biggest problems, and one that has gone largely unreported in the mainstream media, with Obamacare is the fact that the healthcare website provides so means to pay for the coverage people have signed up for. People who think they have enrolled in Obamacare, and think they are in compliance with the law, are not actually enrolled until they pay for the product they purchased, yet people are finding it hard to do so.

When pressed by the Congress last week Kathleen Sebelius admitted that people are not fully enrolled in Obamacare until they make the required payment, so the number of people who have successfully enrolled in the president’s signature accomplishment is much lower than the number we have been given.

Because of this glitch Kathleen Sebelius is urging the insurance companies to cover people even if they have not made a payment to the company. This means the insurance companies are basically being asked to use the honor system, but it comes as no surprise after having read the story about subsidy reimbursement and still if the insurance companies doesn’t fulfill their terms you can contact loss assessors for help.

In that case, once again because the payment mechanism for Obamacare has not been set up, insurance companies are being allowed to estimate how much in subsidies they are owed by the Federal government. The Federal government will pay whatever the insurance companies claim they are owed with the promise the Federal government will go back and make the corrections once, and if, the payment mechanism is up and running.

It now appears as if the whole Obamacare plan is a fly by night, wing and a prayer, make it up as you go along operation, and this is supposed to be better than the system we had in place before Barack Obama and the Democrats screwed up the entire healthcare system?

Between these two stories it is more than evident that the Obama regime is flailing on this issue and is now looking for the same companies which they once considered to be the problem with healthcare (the companies they are trying to put out of business) to bail them out of the problem they created.

Welcome to amateur hour, this would be funny if it were not so damn serious…..

No one signing up on the federal website qualifies for subsidies. Obamacare clearly says that only people living in states that set up their own exchanges can receive the subsidies and it also says that they are the only ones that can be penalized for not having insurance.

I can’t help but wonder what the Obama administration was thinking when the allowed the website to launch like this. Common sense would tell me that they should want it to go off with as few problems as possible, but it’s almost as if they didn’t care that trouble would ensue.

The only explanation I can think of is they really do want it to fail so they can usher in a single-payer health care system. It’s just failing faster than they thought it would.

At the time we had Lee and Cruz trying to stop them from implementing the exchange and I think that Obama did not want to give in even though he knew it was not ready. His stubbornness and has arrogance really caught up to him this time. Having said that I am with you that the goal all along was to bring in a single-payer system, he just wanted it to move more slowly so that he wouldn’t look bad.

Sooner or later the courts are going to have to deal with Obama and his edicts. Why more have not responded and earlier beats me.
