Senate Democrats side with illegal aliens over disabled veterans in battle over Paul Ryan’s budget proposal

December 17, 2013

As America’s Watchtower reported earlier tonight the Paul Ryan/Patty Murray budget proposal which passed the House earlier this week included a provision not only to cut pensions to military personnel but also cut the pensions of disabled veterans

Up until this point I could not think of anything more disgusting or disgraceful than not honoring our promise to the people who have signed up to defend this great nation, and even more so, not living up to the promise made to those who have suffered debilitating injuries in the process.

But leave it to the Senate Democrats to reach even lower than did Paul Ryan and every single House Republican who voted for this compromise. Realizing what a disgrace this was Senator Sessions introduced an amendment to the budget compromise which would have restored funding for military pensions and replaced it with cuts to an IRS tax credit which is used by illegal aliens.

However, not wanting to be outdone in the scumbag category by Paul Ryan, the Senate Democrats blocked the amendment, effectively siding with illegal aliens over our military heroes.

A final effort by Senate Republicans to halt cuts to pensions of military retirees failed late Tuesday, after Democrats blocked an amendment to the controversial budget bill.

The two-year budget agreement, which cleared a key test vote earlier in the day, was expected to get a final vote no later than Wednesday.

Ahead of the final vote, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., tried unsuccessfully to use a parliamentary tactic to force a vote on the amendment, which he wrote to undo the cuts for military retirees.

A provision in the already House-passed bill would cut retirement benefits for military retirees by $6 billion over 10 years.

Sessions wanted to instead eliminate an estimated $4.2 billion in annual spending by reining in an IRS credit that illegal immigrants have claimed.

Just when you thought it could not get any worse it did. To think that the Senate Democrats had a decision to make between illegal aliens and our military and they chose the wrong side is beyond comprehension to me.

At this point it cannot be understated that this never would have happened if Paul Ryan did not decide to sell his soul in an attempt to win the presidency in 2016, and if the House Republicans did not follow suit, but the Senate Democrats had a chance to right this wrong and they chose not to. And they did so for the most disgraceful of reasons, they did not want to lose the minority vote and they put that ahead of the welfare of our veterans.

For one, I am not the least surprised by this vote. After all many illegals who vote, and many do, vote the Democratic ticket whereas the vast majority of service men who vote, vote for Republicans. This Senate vote should surprise no one. The Democrats are simply playing to an important part of their base. Nuff said!!!!!!!!!

You are right Ron, they had nothing to lose by voting this way, but the Republicans in the House either didn’t know about this because they didn’t read the bill or they tried to sneak t through without people noticing. For that reason I am more disappointed in the Republicans than the Democrats because we expect this from the Democrats.

How do these clowns answer to the voters that they sided with the guy that took their construction job at the expense of the guy who laid his life on the line-for this country?

I have no answer for that, my guess is they will not hold town hall meetings, or if they do they will be telephone town halls so they do not have to face the voters.

As usual we are more concerned with taking care of “other” citizens, our own be damned. Since Obama has been in office, we have been on the fast track to becoming second class citizens in our own country. It is so in our faces, they do not even try to hide their contempt for us anymore. Doubt it gets better.

They are so emboldened right now that they do not care what we think and to see us relegated to the back seat after we put these people in office is disgusting. This is as good as it gets, it is all downhill from here. Cheer up, it will get worse…..

Somehow someway the GOP never ceases to amaze. We expect such nonsense from the dems… But Ryan? Well, Rubio is history, Ryan now… I know, Karl rove was out pushing old Jeb bush. Yep, now that is the answer.

We expect this from the Dems but we hold the Republicans to a higher standard and they never cease to disappoint us!

Pat Paulson for president! He was the only candidate who promised if elected he would lower the age of puberty. A much saner proposition than Obalamacare .
