Democrats to pressure television networks to push global warming propaganda
Much to the chagrin of the left and of the global warming alarmists (but I repeat myself) more and more people are beginning to question the settled science of the climate change agenda. It started a few years ago with Climategate when scientists were caught fudging the numbers in order to hide the decline, but the recent cold snap coupled with the story of the ship that sailed to the Antarctic to prove the ice was melting only to get stuck in the non-existent ice has many people openly mocking and laughing at the whole notion the earth is warming. Support for cap and trade legislation is at an all time low.
This is not sitting well with those in the establishment who still wish to push Barack Obama’s radical cap and trade agenda, but what are they to do when nobody takes them serious any more?
You send a letter to the television networks and urge the Sunday shows to propagandize the issue for you and that is just what Bernie Sanders, and several others, have planned.
“It is beyond my comprehension that you have ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox, that their Sunday shows have discussed climate change in 2012, collectively, for all of eight minutes,” Sanders said, citing analysis by the liberal watchdog group Media Matters for America.
Sanders mentioned the letter during a press conference with most other members of Senate Democrats’ new, 19-member Climate Action Task Force, and he elaborated on it in a brief interview afterward.
“Sunday news shows are obviously important because they talk to millions of people, but they go beyond that by helping to define what the establishment considers to be important and what is often discussed during the rest of the week,” he said. [emphasis mine]
“What [the networks] are saying is, climate change is a non-important issue, it is an irrelevant issue, and yet the scientific community tells us that it is the greatest crisis facing this planet,” he said.
Look at the part of the quote that I highlighted for that one sentence tells us everything we need to know about the mainstream media and how it is used by politicians to promote their propaganda. The “media helps to define what the establishment” thinks is important–not what is important, but what the establishment thinks is important–and so now the establishment is going to urge the mainstream media to get on board with the cap and trade agenda in an attempt to get it back on track.
This of course explains why Susan Rice was sent to all the Sunday talk shows after the Benghazi attack; they wanted to set the narrative in motion and new the media would follow in line without question, and that is what they are attempting to do here as well. Is it any wonder why so many people consider today’s mainstream media to be nothing more than the fourth branch of the Federal government?

The Dem want to pay their friends money so this is another income redistribution scheme.

Thank for sharing that! There is no doubt that Obama is using global warming to reward his supporters. We need to look no further than Solyndra and the other companies which received taxpayer money through the green energy initiative in the stimulus bill.

If magically money and power were eliminated from the equation the global warming narrative would magically disappear. Once the broadcast media is brought into line the great unwashed will hail cap and trade as the panacea. The government can then subsidize utility bills. See, it all makes sense. Once we are in the throes of the final stages of socialism, genocide, there will be no great capitalist country with a monsterous economy like today’s U.S . to rescue us. Maybe China will feed us.

My hope is that no matter how bad these evil geniuses in power get, people who at least have a past heritage of freedom will finally recognize the evil being laid around them brick by brick and decide to live free again. Hunger can be a wonderful teacher. In the mean time, those who are awake and looking forward should begin to learn to feed them selves if they haven’t already.
And every one who sees this should show it to their friends who still aren’t protesting the ring in their nose. I know it doesn’t fit on a bumper sticker and you will probably have to give it to them in bite sized portions, but it should be an endeavor all of us strive for.

My next door neighbor who has been out of work-a professional- is fed up with Obama but feels that Chuck Schumer is a man of action and could turn things around. I could only walk away. This my friends is stereotypical of those pushing buttons in the voter booth; those who are to feed themselves?

Hey Peter, I share you head shaking. What many of those on the lemming side of the fence have done is to strip away any vestige of real religion and sense of belonging to a community and have replaced it with all sorts of animated talking idols like Schumer. You can never reach them by ‘touching’ their idol. They really do worship these clowns. Instead, make conversation about things that matter to him, then begin to ask questions, small questions aimed at the values most of these lemmings have in common with freedom loving people. Eventually, if the man is honest with him self, he will paint him self into his own corner and be left with an informed choice to make. It takes time and effort. But if every one of us who love freedom would do that with just one man or woman this spring, and then again in the summer, we could take this country on an abrupt 180.
And if we have to go through the crapper first (worst case of course) then I am confident that hunger is a wonderful teacher. Many will suffer if this nation goes that route, but in the end some one some where will awaken to liberty once again. I would just rather it be sooner and with intelligence driven action. We will see….. Have a good one

Unfortunately I think we do have to go through the crapper first, some people need to see something before they believe it. This is what is happening with Obamacare, these people did not heed our warnings and now they are finding out the hard way that we were right.

If the networks want to keep their licenses, they have to spout and adhere to the agenda. Comcast cut that deal which is on the record when they bought nbc et al. I am sure there are similar deals. Maybe I will trot that old post of mine out again. It seems that is all I am doing. First the warning posts, then a year later they come true. Sickening,

No doubt the “urging” will include a boot on the throat of any network which does not willingly comply. We warned people about this but now that Obama doesn’t have to worry about reelection he is going to do whatever the hell he wants to do. And that is something we also tried to warn the people about.
