MIT professor says global warming is a “dream come true for politicians”

January 15, 2014

While the latest polls show support for cap and trade at an all time low and global warming skepticism climbing higher and higher the Federal government appears to be doubling down before all support is lost. The EPA is readying new cap and trade regulations in order to pass Barack Obama’s cap and trade policy without the help of the Congress, but not to be outdone Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is also planning a global warming initiative.

A new proposal on climate change focuses on public health, energy, transportation and basic infrastructure.

Under the plan unveiled Tuesday, $40 million will go to help cities and towns in Massachusetts shore up the power supply and keep the lights on.

Ten million will be earmarked for the coast, to protect it from rising sea levels.

He is even planning to hire a new climatology czar at $100,000 a year–what are the chances this position will be awarded to a crony? But opposition has come from a very unlikely source, here is what an MIT professor, who just happens to be a climate expert,  had to say while telling global warming alarmists to slow down:

“The changes that have occurred due to global warning are too small to account for,” he told WBZ-TV. “It has nothing to do with global warming, it has to do with where we live.”

The Massachusetts climate has to do with where the state is located on the map, now that is a radical concept isn’t it? But then he lowers the boom on what the true goal of the alarmists really is:

“Global warming, climate change, all these things are just a dream come true for politicians. The opportunities for taxation, for policies, for control, for crony capitalism are just immense, you can see their eyes bulge,” he says.

Exactly what we global warming realists have been saying for quite some time now. It is refreshing to see a member of the academia actually admit that taxation and control is what the global warming movement is all about.

And then he nails the alarmists as fear mongers:

“Even many of the people who are supportive of sounding the global warning alarm, back off from catastophism,” Lindzen said. “It’s the politicians and the green movement that like to portray catastrophe.”

What is the over/under on how long this professor is still employed at MIT?

As they say science is not settled and if it is settled it is not science. Finally a professor (I hope a science professor) speaks at a famous university.

He is a climate specialist so I think he should have some credibility on this issue.

In the Peoples Republic Of Massachusetts who do you suppose the disconnected from reality voters will believe and back, an MIT professor or Obama and Patrick? This horse carp may not be a slam dunk but the bad guys will prevail. Once the curtain of one man rule is drawn in Washington either Obama is dealt with or he comes down on what’s left of this republic like a ton if bricks. Our new flag will be green and white .
