The State Department is still aiding the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, claiming it is not a terrorist organization

 According to this story the State Department has admitted it is still aiding the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, because of this the department still has refused to label the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization:

Despite the fact that the Egyptian government has banned the Muslim Brotherhood, the US admits they are still working and meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood as part of a ‘broad outreach to the different parties and groups there.’ Seriously. After all that Morsi did, the Obama administration still feels that the Muslim Brotherhood should be part of the government, just as they did before.

They also admit that the US has not designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group.

  I am not surprised to learn this, however I find it to be interesting in light of a story I wrote about last week.

  A group of former national security officials accused Grover Norquist, and other Republican leaders of being in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood. These former national security officials called the Muslim Brotherhood “domestic Islamists” who are waging “civilizational jihad” to destroy the West “from within” by use of “political influence operations.”

The dossier of alleged evidence concludes that domestic Islamists are waging “civilizational jihad” to destroy the West “from within” by use of “political influence operations.”

It further alleges Norquist “has had personal, professional and/or organizational association” with a number of Muslim Brotherhood operatives and that those affiliations “have enabled the influence operations of Islamists, including those of Iran.”

  So, either the Obama has not come to the same conclusion as these national security officials, or he knows this and is ignoring it because it is adverse to his agenda. The regime appears to want to have it both ways: the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization when there are alleged ties to the Republicans, but when it is the Democrats who are aiding the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt they are a “largely secular”  (to use James Clapper’s words) organization which should be allowed to have a voice in Egypt. 

  Which is it? I guess it depends on what the definition of the word ‘is’ is.
