Chuck Schumer to Republicans: Either grant illegal immigrants amnesty or Barack Obama will stop deportations
According to this story Chuck Schumer posted on Facebook the following ultimatum to the Republicans in the Congress who have been thwarting the president’s attempt at granting amnesty to illegal immigrants:
GOP politicians can either “grow our economy by bringing in needed workers in high tech and agriculture areas, and provide a hard-earned path to eventual citizenship for the 11 million in the shadows, or they can sit idly by and watch the President greatly curtail deportations while 11 million continue to live in limbo here in America,”
What he is basically telling the Republicans in the Congress is this: either you grant amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants who have broken the law to enter this country or Barack Obama will stop deporting them thereby granting them defacto amnesty anyway, so you might as well get on board because it is going to happen one way or the other.
This is a perfect example of how many liberals in power define compromise for compromise to them means giving them everything they want with nothing in return.
This sound more like a threat to me than it sounds like compromise…..

Only 11 million? What about the other 20 million? Maybe if the republicans would get out of the way of the presidents job creating agenda we could provide jobs for them all and then we would’t have to deport any illegal aliens; especially the criminal element who only want to achieve the American dream of plea bargaining and suspended sentences. Qué carajo quieres?

Yeah, 11 million is a very low number and that doesn’t even include the family members these people will be able to bring over once amnesty is passed.

Seems like they are way off mark in the amount of illegals here. However, there are those out there that believe whatever they are told. That Schumer has the ability to make those ultimatums show how weak the Republicans have become. If the tables were turned, we know what the outcome would be. We see this over and over and still there seems to be no fight in the Republicans. I have a feeling they are going to be as complacent in this coming election, as well. When so much in fight in a party is going on, how could we possibly expect a good outcome? I would say they are just a little “confused” as to WHO they should be fighting with, don’t you?

They are definitely downplaying the numbers in order to make it more palatable to the American people and sadly too many people believe everything they are told.

Hate to say it Steve but reps did nothing meaningful to pass healthcare reform and look what happened. And now they are eating s##t abut immigration too. Boehner himself said that no action will be taken on immigration during 2014.

Boehner cannot be trusted.

??? He’s already curtailed deportations. Schumer is a moron who thinks everyone else is a moron. The results speak for themselves.

They sure do!

Finally, a Democrat is telling the truth about what they want in immigration reform. If only more of them would be honest about their intentions, then maybe we wouldn’t be in such a mess in America.

Yeah, I guess we should at least be thankful for that much.

When a nation’s leadership is illegal, that’s what is championed.
The 11 million figure is stated like abortions in this country – not truly identifying them for what/who they are.
What’s Chuck’s definition of ‘grow the economy’? Doubt if it matches ours.
And if ‘not curtailed’ how much “MORE” this illegal usurping administration could “accomplish” … what are their ‘GOALS’ again?
I think they’d like to use this as an example speaking point / threat: “Royal Navy warship accidentally fired a torpedo at a nuclear dockyard.” Next time it won’t be ‘unarmed.’

His definition certainly does not match ours! How can he possibly think that bringing in more people to compete for jobs with Americans who would otherwise get these jobs is somehow going to grow the economy is beyond me.

Have no fear. Comprehensive immigration reform will include open arms for extended families to storm our shores. Maybe, possibly, the hoards already here can sue the government to pay the passage for their newly enfranchised relatives along with instructions to raid our welfare and social security systems along with crushing our schools and hospitals; just not in Chuckie Cheese Schumer’s neighborhood.

The fact that these people will then be allowed to bring in their families is something the supporters of amnesty are conveniently forgetting.

I believe they are counting on it while counting on their prospective democrat votes.
