Open thread for Sunday, March 23rd: The Last in Line

March 23, 2014

Here is the open thread for Sunday, March 23rd; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

As usual you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the world. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.

In case you have not noticed I have replaced the old Twitter widget with a new, fully interactive Twitter widget. This widget updates my tweets in near real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. Is also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?

Please check out what the New Federalist Party has been up to by clicking on the link to the right. On the NFP Facebook page you will find a link to the party platform. Check it out and if you like what you see we are currently looking for donations and delegates to the states for the convention.

This week’s musical selection is Dio performing ‘The Last in Line’ from 1986. Enjoy:

It is always strange when I watch an old movie or television show and I see the WTC, it is a sad reminder of what happened. I remember when ‘The Song Remains the Same’ came to a local movie theater when I was a teenager. At that time Zeppelin was my favorite band and I still remember going to the midnight showing. Thanks for sharing this.

Today’s “trying to make sense of the senseless”, makes me wonder how the “politically correct” got their power? How did they take control? I really don’t have a clue, but I think I know some of the players. It had to start with the universities, where there has always been a liberal bias and a very closed, sheltered, environment where ten-year eliminates any sense of accountability to the taxpayer. Like the Chinese “re-education camps”, you get with the program, or get out. There is daily proof that the universities are the least tolerant, least open places in America, just ask Condie Rice.
Politicians are not only products of this environment, but pander to it, gaining support and getting elected, where they can make more laws supporting the “brain wash” and punishing the unbeliever, eg, the IRS going after the TEA party.
The Lame Stream Media are also products of the leftist brain wash, so they feel no only compelled to support it, but are actually true believers themselves.
None of this really mattered when only a small percentage of the population went to college. The majority of the people were more influenced by their family, their church, their community, their job. Well, look at each of these influences and see how government has interfered in each. The broken family with no father figure dependent on government. The war on religion, where the left is fighting every step to get the mere notion of God out of public sight. Your community is now controlled by “community organizers” like Obama, and the government controls most aspects of each persons job.
And now, with endless loans, and false promises of a great future, all students are told they must go to college, at least long enough to see the wisdom of big brother.
This is only one part of the puzzle. I am not smart enough to see the big picture, but like a big meal, one bite at a time.

Bruce, I believe it goes even further than that! I believe it starts in grade school with what our children are being told. We had an issue during my daughters 5 th grade class. They wanted her to take pictures of the inside of our house and what we have in it. Of course when I found out, I stopped this from happening. But then they tried having her draw pictures of the rooms, what we had on the walls, etc. Now why did they need to know that? Other than that, I think you are spot on about the culprits. Our children are being taken away from us at the ripe young age of 4 or 5 when they start indoctrinating them. Of course we know for a fact most colleges are liberal, so it just intensified then..

You are right Lou, the indoctrination starts at the most early stages of education, the sooner the establishment gets their hands on our children the easier it is to indoctrinate them.

Yes lou, all levels of education start from, and are controlled by the universities. In order to teach, you need a teaching degree, which can only come from the university, and the education departments are some of the most liberal departments on the campus. Elementary school teachers are really the first wave of attack, preparing the brain wash.
And yes Steve, when you see the control wanted by the elementary schools, and the militant nature of the teachers unions, the kids don’t have a chance.

You nailed it Bruce! I think the hippies of the sixties never really went away; they realized that protests could only go so far so in order to influence the people they infiltrated these organizations you mentions and have been effecting change that way for many years.

You sure have ‘fun’ selecting these don’t you! 🙂 Quite the wardrobe!
Even the ‘No Child Left Behind’ test influence the youth by the way the questions are asked, or the topic of the story, the focus – devised to promote a certain ‘conditioned’ way of looking at ‘reality’. Seems the sociopaths and sickies always want to promote their realities, laws, perversion & such on everyone else. And THAT explains why we all ‘can’t just get along.’ Preschool TV entices young minds of babe’s in the ways of the Borg collective, while the remnant of sanity still breaths in the hearts and minds of some.

This is the kind of crap that happens, I am so glad I did NOT go to U of W in Madison, Wisconsin. I went thru high school there, but moved and went to SIU-E in Edwardsville, Il. instead. Madison is so VERY liberal, that apparently is all they can pump out of their university. We were talking about Common Core and how it starts at an early age, but this is where it goes into high gear.

Isn’t this some form of discrimination??
