Eric Holder wants to explore smart bracelets for gun owners

April 7, 2014

Eric Holder has a new idea which he calls a “common sense” gun control measure. This idea includes a “smart bracelet” which a gun owner would have to wear in order to fire his or her weapon. He bills this as a way to ensure only the lawful owner of a firearm could fire that weapon but it goes much deeper than that in my opinion.

Here is what he said in support of this idea:

“One of the things we learned when we were trying to pass those common sense reforms last year, Vice President Biden and I had a meeting with a group of technology people and talked about how guns can be made more safe by making them either though fingerprint identification, the gun talks to a bracelet that you might wear, how guns can be used only by the person who is lawfully in possession of the weapon,” said Holder, referring to so-called “smart gun” technology.

“It’s those kinds of things that I think we want to try to explore so that people have the ability to enjoy their Second Amendment rights while at the same time decreasing the misuse of weapons that lead to the kinds of things we see on a daily basis, where people, kids especially, are struck down.”

It is no secret that the gun grabbing anti-second amendment advocates have long desired two things; fingerprinting law abiding gun owners and creating a national registry of gun owners and the firearms which they possess. What is this if it is not an attempt at accomplishing both of those goals through backdoor legislation?

The keyword in Eric Holder’s statement is ‘fingerprint.’ While this might not be an actual fingerprint–it could be–but rather an electronic fingerprint via a security code or some other electronic means it is still a fingerprint nonetheless and it will be used to track people who have done nothing wrong. And when all gun owners are required to purchase a smart bracelet what is this if it is not a defacto registration for all gun owners and all of their weapons will be on record.

Why should law abiding gun owners be forced to be fingerprinted as a common criminal simply for exercising their second amendment right? And who else wears a bracelet by order of the State? People who have committed crimes are forced in some cases to wear ankle bracelets, that’s who.

The vast majority of gun owners have never, and will never, commit a crime with a gun but we are the ones who are constantly targeted by the gun grabbers because gun control is not about stopping crime, it is about control.

And what will happen with all of the weapons which are legally owned at this time but are not equipped with the fingerprinting technology? Will they be grandfathered, or will gun owners be forced to equip them with the technology, at their own expense, or face confiscation?

This is something that bears watching…..

I’d recommend you read this man’s post. Very scary what Holder wants to do. I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist, but with Feinstein trying to create a kill switch for cellphones in California, I don’t find it unlikely that Holder and his goons will try to create a kill switch for guns if this technology is released and his “common sense” push goes through. Keep your guns safe and stock up on ammo. These are dangerous times.

Thanks for the reblog! It may seem like tinfoil hat material, but I do not doubt for a moment that if this passes the technology will be in place to “shut off” every gun in America at the whim of the government.

No problem, I’ve been reading your blog a lot lately. Very informative and trustworthy.

I fear that our government’s lack of concern for the constitution will lead to many oppressive measures within the next decade. An infringement on our second amendment right is towards the top of their list.

Thanks for the compliment. I foresee many oppressive measures coming as well and that is why they are going after the second amendment–once that is null and void it will be much easier for them to go after all the others.

It sure is…..of your goal is to punish people who have done nothing wrong for the crimes of those who have.

We need a kill switch on Washington. Totalatarians never feel safe until they disarm the citizens. Great post, Steve!

This has nothing to do with “tin foil hat material”. It does have everything to do with the fact that Eric Holder and company can’t be trusted to do the right thing. They have their own agenda and they don’t mind doing whatever they have to do to further that agenda.

    Trust them, I do not.

I am right there with you Larry. This regime has done nothing but prove they cannot be trusted and they sure cannot be trusted to have the right motive in mind with this idea.

Of course it would seem that the Crips and the Bloods need not be concerned. Their firearms are most likely acquired illegally and therefore will not require owners of such to be shackled with “smart bracelets.” How about branding elected politicians and their appointees who repeatedly and willfully disregard and violate the constitution with the scarlet letter on their foreheads.

The fact that this will do nothing to get illegal guns off the streets, not will it do anything to slow down gun violence, is something the left always love to forget when they come after the law abiding citizens time and time again.

I say we put a pain bracelet on all politicians, federal, state, and municipal, and whenever they spend any money, they get a pain. They more they spend, the more it hurts. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, etc. would all have shooting pains up their arm all the way to their head like it was going to explode.

Did Holder say shackles or bracelets? Never mind, it is all the same to him. It is only liberty lovers that see a difference.

The last piece of gun control that really was a matter of common sense, was using both hands.

As far as the rest, we’re under siege. We know it and no matter how they try to deny it, they know it. We are in a legal and cultural war. The anti gun mob are attempting to commit genocide on the firearms culture in the U.S.

Without the Right of Self Defense AND the means to carry that out, you have no rights at all.

Holder needs a “smart bracelet” around his neck–and I want to control the amount of squeezing pressure he gets every time he “shoots” his mouth off! What a prick!!
