Barack Obama brings back the “birther” issue

April 11, 2014

With the exception of some Facebook, and other social media posts, the birther issue seems to have fallen by the wayside. When the whole birth certificate controversy first came to light while Barack Obama was still a candidate for the presidency all those years ago I wrote a couple of posts on it because America’s Watchtower writes about the political issues which are in the news and this was in the news. However I realized what this was really all about and stopped writing about it.

Once Barack Obama became president this issue was null and void and nobody can claim that America’s Watchtower was in the “birther camp”  for while I have attacked Barack Obama on a number of issues I have never challenged the legitimacy of his presidency based on where he might have been born.

Even if Barack Obama announced tomorrow that he was in fact born in Kenya as the birthers claim it would still be a null and void issue because there is no way in hell the Congress would ever seek to remove him from office.

Even if the cause to remove him from office was legitimate just think of the havoc which would be wrought on the United States if he were removed; we would then have to revisit and nullify all laws passed by him as president and that would cause years of trials and tribulations, chaos and legal battles, which would divide the nation and send the United States toward anarchy. (And what form of government usually rises from such chaos?) Nobody in the Congress will be willing to put the country through that and for good reason.

While I would like to see much of what has been passed under Barack Obama repealed, it should be done through the Congress and the next president, and not through the chaos which would ensue.

Barack Obama has always been coy when dealing with this issue, adding fuel to the fire among birthers who considered this to be proof that he was not born in the United States, for why else wouldn’t he have put this controversy to rest early on?

I have a different take on his reasoning and it is two-fold. First; he welcomed the controversy because it was a diversion from the true issues. While the birthers were focused on this one issue he could use the diversion to pass his agenda. And second; he realized that this could be used to attack the whole opposition as racists, in an attempt to divide the country, for the actions of a few. This was a win-win issue for Barack Obama with the majority of the American people and he knew it.

But with the birther issue out of the mainstream and out of the minds of most Americans, Barack Obama suddenly decided to revive it earlier today when he spoke at Al Sharpton’s conference.

Here is part of what he said:

“Just to be clear, I know where my birth certificate is, but a lot of people don’t,” he quipped to a cheering audience.

“You remember that? That was crazy,” the president laughed. “That was some crazy stuff — I hadn’t thought about that in a while.”

So, with the birther issue behind him, and with this out of the minds of the majority of the American people, why would Barack Obama suddenly revisit it?

I think this proves my theory is true; Barack Obama wants to use this controversy as a distraction to further divide the American people. There is an election coming up at the end of the year and it is clear from the rhetoric coming from the left in recent weeks that the Democratic party wants to use the same strategy in 2014 they used to great success in 2012. And that strategy is to divide the American people between race, class, gender, and sexual orientation. This is part of that plan, he did not bring this up for no good reason–he once again sees this as a win-win. He is seeking to delegitimize his entire opposition by linking them to the words of the few. He wants to put us all in the same category.

But I think there is one other reason for bringing this issue back up today and that can be summed up in two words: Ted Cruz.

It is no secret that Ted Cruz is seriously considering a run for the presidency in 2016, and it should be no secret to all of those who pay attention to politics that Ted Cruz was born in Canada and not in the United States, bringing into question his legitimacy to run for president.

Surely those who opposed Barack Obama solely on his legitimacy can not support Ted Cruz for the same reason lest they be branded hypocrites. And he can once again paint the entire opposition as racists at the same time.

Are you beginning to get the picture? Are you going to fall into the trap by helping Barack Obama to revive an issue which for all intents and purposes is dead? There are more pressing issues which the country is facing, which is why Barack Obama is once again trying to divert the attention of the American people before the next election.

Reblogged this on Brittius.com and commented:
Diversion from the beginning to keep people from THINKING about what the real problems were and all of the scheming. Now, nobody cares, because we are on the verge of a shooting war in Nevada. The Second Revolution is only one trigger squeeze away. Hence, the coward’s diversion.

Thanks for the reblog. It is scary what is happening in Nevada and this is another diversion from what the Federal government is doing.

        You’re welcome.
Don’t be afraid, because if it is going to happen, then let it happen. First time out until you get used to it, things might feel foreign but you adjust instantly. Obama want attention off of Nevada. If I were there… Maybe it’s best that I am not.

People are fed up with how the government is trying to take over everything we do. At some point this had to happen. We work hard for what we have and to see it being taken and divided up for those that have not worked for it is just too much for some of us to handle. What is going on in Nevada has Harry Reid written all over it. It sounds like this family might be the last hold out for land to be used after the fact for government purposes. Is it any wonder that they have many people on the way to help them protect what is theirs?
As to what Obama is now doing with the birther issue, I think we would all be in agreement that when he does this, there is always an underlying issue he is trying to push past us that we do not pay attention to. What this time? Will it be taking more of our freedoms? Probably so..

There are rumors that this is linked to Rory Reid and China for that solar panel project and I wouldn’t be surprised if that is true.
He brought up the birther issue for a reason, it was not off the cuff, and i think it is another attempt at splitting people before the election.

The same thing with Eric holder requesting over one billion bucks for gun control methods. They want to pull our chain and get us in a tizzy. Don’t bite. IMO.

If it was used for the illegal gun owners, well, I think we would be all for it. But, since it is to control the law abiding citizens, well, I don’t think so. We should have to wear a bracelet to fire our own pistols? That is just plain crazy. However, there will be those that will willingly comply with whatever the government says is the best thing for us.
Since Chicago/Cook County has finally allowed the citizens to pack heat in their own homes, you can guess that crime has gone down. I guess those thugs are not so brave anymore to kick someones door in that might be drawing down on them…hmmmmm.

Dunno – reading some of the comments here and on FB by people who think armed insurrection is a matter of days or weeks away, I’d say you guys are already in a tizzy.

You are talking about the III%ers but you just did what I said the president was trying to do. You lumped us all in with the III%ers, even though, as their name suggests, they are only a small portion of who you called “you guys.” And because of the reason they chose their name it is fairly obvious they know they are in the vast minority.
