New study claims biofuels are worse for the environment than gasoline
A new government funded study on biofuels has reached the conclusion that biofuels are actually worse for the environment than gasoline.
Biofuels made from the leftovers of harvested corn plants are worse than gasoline for global warming in the short term, a study shows, challenging the Obama administration’s conclusions that they are a much cleaner oil alternative and will help combat climate change.
A $500,000 study paid for by the federal government and released Sunday in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Climate Change concludes that biofuels made with corn residue release 7 percent more greenhouse gases in the early years compared with conventional gasoline.
Chalk up another one billion dollars wasted by the Federal government on this green energy initiative–what does that bring the total up to, I have lost count.
The study goes on to say that biofuels will be better for the environment in the long run. Assuming this is all true we have to ask these questions: will the long term benefits be enough to overcome and reverse the devastation to the environment biofuels cause in the short term? What is the definition of ‘short term’ and ‘long term’? And, is it worth it to cause more harm to the environment in the hope that some good will come from this sometime down the line?
I guess we have to destroy the environment in order to save it.

Its another case of government relying on Non Government Organizations, (NGO”S) to throw our money away. Most politicians are lawyers and the LAWS are written and passed by Lawyers to benefit Lawyers. Its government, of The Politician, by the Politician and for the Politician, not for ” We The People.” Its a shame to think I went to Viet Nam in 1967, so some muslim, socialist, communist, PIG could destroy America. May GOD have mercy upon the REPUBLIC of the United States of America.

Sadly, our government will chase after every cause de jour without questioning the wisdom of it. It’s not their money they are wasting. It’s ours and they assume there will always be more whenever they want it.

If this is for real, it makes perfect sense why they went this route. Uses our resources and keeps us from exporting food as well.
