Barack Obama orders an investigation into the Phoenix VA after 40 veterans died waiting for doctor appointments
In a preview of what healthcare could be like for all Americans once the goal of a single-payer system is attained, last week we learned from this CNN report the horrible story that 40 veterans died while waiting for appointments from the Veteran Affairs office in Phoenix. These veterans allegedly died because they were placed on a secret waiting list which was being used to hide the long wait for healthcare. (And this was just one state, who knows if this is happening elsewhere at this point in time.)
At least 40 U.S. veterans died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system, many of whom were placed on a secret waiting list.
The secret list was part of an elaborate scheme designed by Veterans Affairs managers in Phoenix who were trying to hide that 1,400 to 1,600 sick veterans were forced to wait months to see a doctor, according to a recently retired top VA doctor and several high-level sources.
Today Barack Obama announced that he has launched an investigation into this latest scandal:
“The moment we heard about the allegations around these 40 individuals who had died in Phoenix, I immediately ordered the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, General Shinseki, to investigate. We also have an IG [Inspector General] investigation taking place. And so we take the allegations very seriously.
This of course is the right thing to do, however we can only hope he takes the results of this investigation and the ensuing report more seriously than he took the State Department’s Keystone Pipeline report and acts swiftly on it instead of delaying it until after the 2014 election for political reasons.

More immediately important, Obama is grandstanding to make himself look good. He’s using the issue of veteran’s healthcare to distract us from the rest of what he’s doing.
Here’s another one that we’ll be hearing more about. A.G. Holder and the DoJ are setting up a study of racial discrimination by police all across the country. You know where that one is going to go.

I read that story earlier today as well, and yes Obama is using this for cover in order to take our attention away from other issues. Typical!

Problems with services at VA hospitals go back as long as I can remember. It’s truely sad the way our veterans are forgoten. I’ve often wondered why it isn’t the Department of Defense that is responsible for taking of our vets? The DOD might get better funding than the VA.

It is sad the way we neglect those who have served our country, and this is coming to all Americans once single-payer is here.

His ‘immediate’ in reality is ‘right after my next golf game or gala at the W H.’
When no one holds any of them accountable – because they’re all in the slop together – it’s just more blabbing-brook talk. McCain will be used as a mouth piece as well – the ventriloquist knows what words to put in their mouths. If they were as smart as they think they are they’d come up with a good solution.

Exactly, this will fade into a distant memory and nobody will be held accountable. We have seen this act too many times in the past.

Obama needs to investigate a lot more than one VA hospital. He can get started with the loss of billions of dollars from VA’s major construction projects in Orlando, New Orleans, Denver, Las Vegas, and many more. Where is the VA going to get the replacement billions of dollars necessary to complete these projects? Of course, scrimp on the actual services provided to the veterans and kill a few of them, that’s where. VA House Committee Chairman Jeff Miller knew a long time ago about the massive theft that is going on in VA procurement (he has all the evidence he needs to put the criminals behind bars) but has done nothing to stop the syphoning of of taxpayers money. Google: Glenn Haggstrom, $55K Bonus. (He is the head of the VAs Office of Acquisition Logistics and Construction.)

Sad isn’t it? And I have no faith anything will happen to any of these people.
