Hillary Clinton under fire over Boko Haram

May 10, 2014

For the last several days Hillary Clinton has come under fire for her refusal to label Boko Haram as a terrorist organization while she was the Secretary of State despite the fact the CIA and the FBI both wanted this designation.

  Here is more:

[Clinton’s] own State Department refused to place Boko Haram on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in 2011, after the group bombed the U.N. headquarters in Abuja. The refusal came despite the urging of the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA, and over a dozen senators and congressmen.

“The one thing she could have done, the one tool she had at her disposal, she didn’t use. And nobody can say she wasn’t urged to do it. It’s gross hypocrisy,” said a former senior U.S. official who was involved in the debate. “The FBI, the CIA, and the Justice Department really wanted Boko Haram designated, they wanted the authorities that would provide to go after them, and they voiced that repeatedly to elected officials.”

However, I have a different question; why would she?

After all, this is the same regime which to this day refuses to label the Fort Hood shooting as a terrorist attack, preferring to call it ‘workplace violence’ in order to not offend Muslims. This is the same regime which blamed a video for the attack in Benghazi for weeks, blaming America and not terrorism, for the attack in order to not offend Muslims. And this is the same regime which stated the Muslim Brotherhood had a place in the elections in Egypt so as not to offend the terrorist organization.

Did anyone really expect Hillary Clinton to risk offending Boko Haram by calling them what they are? This seems to be par for the course and I would have expected nothing less from Hillary Clinton.

As with Benghazi, politics is the ONLY consideration for these two; what will play best to the base? What furthers the narrative?
Now that it is internationally political, she is calling Boko Haram terrorists. Because it is all political, Hilla-beans has to figure out how this will play out on the political chess board. She doesn’t want to “run” for the presidency, she thinks she has earned it, it should be given to her as a reward for being Hillary.
The only thing that competes with her ambition is her ego. Will her ego allow her to be questioned again and again about Benghazi, Boko Haram, Vince Foster, Ukraine, and the rest?
That is the only thing that could stop her power trip.

She has much to answer for if she runs for president, but we saw what the media can do in the last election when Candy Crawley injected herself into the debate and drove a knife through the heart of Romney’s campaign so I won’t be holding my breath waiting for the media to do its job.

I’ve seen so much of this sort of thing that I’m getting numb. I never expect to hear about anything good or helpful from anyone on the Democrat side and damn little from the Republicans. It actually surprised me that Obama had enough class to snub Kim Kardashian.

I just keep hoping the Republicans come up with even a halfway decent slate of candidates. Politics as usual is killing us.

I agree but at this point I am unsure if the Republicans have a decent candidate. I thought Rand Paul would be the guy but he is starting to let me down with his recent comments.
