Barack Obama knew there were problems with the Veterans Affairs waiting lists in 2008
According to this story Barack Obama was told shortly after the 2008 election that there were problems with the Veterans Affairs and he was warned not to trust the lists.
Here is more:
The Obama administration received clear notice more than five years ago that VA medical facilities were reporting inaccurate waiting times and experiencing scheduling failures that threatened to deny veterans timely health care — problems that have turned into a growing scandal.
Veterans Affairs officials warned the Obama-Biden transition team in the weeks after the 2008 presidential election that the department shouldn’t trust the wait times that its facilities were reporting.
“This is not only a data integrity issue in which [Veterans Health Administration] reports unreliable performance data; it affects quality of care by delaying — and potentially denying — deserving veterans timely care,” the officials wrote.
In the interest of fairness it should be noted that this shows us this problem predates Barack Obama but that does not mean this takes him off the hook. As far as we can tell the secret waiting lists are a new revelation and it is unclear, despite Jay Carney’s claim the president only learned about this on the news, when Barack Obama actually learned about the depth of this scandal. If the president really only learned about this when he heard about it on the news then it is clear he is incompetent and has no idea what is happening in the Federal government.
Barack Obama knew in 2008 that the waiting list data could not be trusted and yet he did nothing to correct the problem (much like his predecessor George Bush) with this government run healthcare system because he seems to have been more interested in creating a new healthcare system which would eventually ensure all Americans were on the same type of healthcare system which has already failed our veterans.
Now we are being told that Barack Obama is “madder than hell” about these allegations, but if he truly is “madder than hell” and he did indeed learn about this in 2008, one can easily assume he is “madder than hell” that the allegations might make him look bad rather than being ” madder than hell” at the treatment of our veterans.
It must be noted here that if Barack Obama knew about the problems with the waiting lists in 2008 than George Bush knew as well and did nothing to ensure our veterans received the help they needed when they returned home. George Bush cannot be let off the hook on this issue either; if he did not know about the problems the incompetent label must be applied to him as well.
It is clear to me that while our elected officials love the veterans when they send them off to war, and while they love the veterans when they have a photo-op with flag draped coffins, that they do not care about the when they come home and are no longer of any political use to them whatsoever.
Sickening!

The Obama regime is going to have a hard time having a smidgen of responsibility on this one. Let this be a lesson for government run healthcare.

While this corrupt administration water no time , energy or resources to investigate and fine Government Motors (GM) for 13 deaths due to negligence it has none to dedicate to investigating and punishing those responsible directly or indirectly for the senseless and avoidable deaths of 41 american armed forces veterans. Obama: In charge of everything and responsible for nothing. Hillary will have no problem filling those clown shoes.

You are right Steve, both sickening and disgusting. Like any leader, Bush is responsible, even if not at fault. Obama has blamed Bush for everything else in the country, I am surprised he hasn’t gone on the record to blame him for this as well.
But it was Obama who wanted the whole country to get the same bad government run health care the Veterans have received for so long.

He will blame this on Bush eventually; that is if he even cares enough to mention it.

And he did. At his joke of a press conference he said this has been going on for years. Surprisingly, he didn’t name Bush by name, and the “years” statement would extend to Clinton.
Even a child would ask if it has been going on for years, why didn’t he fix it now, like he PROMISED he would in his campaign.
