Scott Brown calls on Jeanne Shaheen to release her communications with Lois Lerner

 Regular readers of America’s Watchtower know that I have been hard on Scott Brown since he carpetbagged his way into my state to run for political office but today he got one right so it is time to give credit where credit is due.

  Senator Shaheen is one of the Democrats who signed a letter which was addressed to Lois Lerner asking her to investigate some groups applying for 501 C (4) status. Of course these groups all just happened to be conservative groups and the rest is history.

  Today the Brown campaign is calling on Senator Shaheen to her to release all communications she had with Lois Lerner.

  Here is part of what the Brown campaign had to say

Brown’s campaign manager, Colin Reed, says the loss of Lerner’s email “raises more questions about the deliberate targeting of conservative groups for tax audits.” The campaign is asking for Shaheen emails between her, her office and the IRS and Lerner for the time period of the missing Lerner emails.
“We know that Senator Shaheen was one of the Democratic senators who wrote a letter asking the IRS to target organizations that were critical of her or the Democratic Party,” Reed said. “Given her involvement in this scandal, she has an obligation to assist the investigation by releasing all of her correspondence, records of meetings and phone contacts with the IRS during the 2009 through 2011 time period in question. Voters deserve to know that the IRS is not being used as a way to punish political enemies of Jeanne Shaheen, the Obama Administration or the Democratic Party.”

  Of course this could be nothing more than more political opportunism from the ultimate political opportunist but in this case he is 100% right: the voters of New Hampshire deserve to know what role, if any, Jeanne Shaheen had in the targeting of political enemies.
