Texas Democrat claims he got an angry call from the White House for speaking out against the recent flood of illegal immigrants, refuses to back down
Texas Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar has been outspoken about the recent flood of illegal immigrants who have been flooding over the border in response to Barack Obama’s Executive Orders which have granted some illegal immigrants amnesty and others DREAM Act privileges.
Needless to say, this is not sitting well with Barack Obama and when asked during a recent interview if anyone in the White House has contacted him about speaking out he admitted he has indeed received an angry phone call from somebody in the Obama regime who would rather he just shut up about this issue.
Here is how the interview went down:
One of the most outspoken Democrats criticizing the White House over the illegal immigration invasion taking place in Texas has gotten word from the White House to shut his trap.
U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Texas Democrat whose district includes border territory in the Rio Grande Valley, told Brian Kilmeadeon Wednesday’s “Fox & Friends” that he’d been getting heat from the Obama administration.
“A lot of times this administration gets angry when their own party speaks up and speaks out,” Kilmeade said. “Have you gotten that call?”
“Yes, I have,” Cuellar said. “But let me just say this, I’m not concerned about who gets angry at me at the White House. I’m more concerned about my constituents, who want to find a practical solution to this question that we’re facing down there at the border.”
And today, rather than backing down from the Obama regime, he held true to his word during an interview on MSNBC when he once again slammed the president, this time for his refusal to visit the border even though he has time to drink beer and play pool.
Here is what he had to say today:
“He’s so close to the border. And let me say this: when I saw, and I hate to use the word bizarre, but under the circumstances, when he is shown playing pool in Colorado, drinking a beer, and he can’t even go 242 miles to the Texas border, and plus, if he doesn’t want to go down to the border, there’s the Air Force Base where HHS is holding some of the young kids from the border. He could at least make that trip to San Antonio, but again, border community leaders wants to see him down there on the border, and I think the optics and the substance of it is that he should show up at the border,” said Cuellar.
And he had some advice for the White House.”If they are worried about putting a face, the president’s face, to this human crisis, humanitarian crisis, I think it’s worse if he doesn’t even show up. Either way, he’s going to be tied into this humanitarian crisis. he either can roll up his sleeves and go down to the border, or he can just look aloof and detached and not go to the border, send surrogates down there, and say that he’s got everything under control.”
He adds, “It Just floored me, because if he’s saying he’s too busy to go to the border but you have time to drink beer, play pool.”
It is good to see at least one Democrat who is more concerned with his constituents than he is in advancing Barack Obama’s radical agenda. Let’s hope he continues to fight for his constituents and does not succumb to pressure from the White House.

Probably had his own stash. He’s really a ‘chicken’ when it gets right down to it. All his puppeteers are happy as long as he does what they tell him to do and he’s glad to stay out of the way (under full protection) and let others do the dirty work.
I hope Dem. Henry can keep on the sober side too Steve.

One quick notation. I was listening to NPR this morning as they covered Obama’s visit to Texas. His refusal to visit the border was brought up. The White House says he will not do so because he is not interested in a photo op. Funny thing, those photo ops, He had no such inclination after Hurricane Sandy came ashore and he was running for reelection.
