The Department of Justice will investigate Lois Lerner’s “lost” emails
The Department of Injustice is in the midst of an ongoing investigation into the IRS’s targeting of political opponents (this should come as a surprise to my liberal friends on Facebook who claim the issue has already been investigated and nothing was found) and today the Department of Injustice stated that this investigation would also include the circumstances surrounding the convenient loss of many of Lois Lerner’s potentially pertinent emails regarding the case.

The Justice Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the lost Lois Lerner emails, the department said Wednesday night.
Deputy Attorney General James Cole, in testimony slated for the House Oversight Committee Thursday morning, will tell lawmakers that part of the department’s probe of the IRS tea party controversy includes looking at how the ex-IRS official at the heart of the scandal lost two years worth of emails.
“I can … tell you that the investigation includes investigating the circumstances of the lost emails from Ms. Lerner’s computer,” he will say, according to the testimony.
This would be, in fact should be, great news until you remember that the person leading the Department of Injustice’s investigation just happens to be a donor to Barack Obama and the Democratic party.
“Appointing an avowed political supporter of President Obama to head up the Justice Department probe is not only disturbing but puts politics right in the middle of what is supposed to be an independent investigation to determine who is responsible for the Obama administration’s unlawful targeting of conservative and tea party groups,”
Of course Eric Holder is of the belief that there is no conflict of interest here. I am sure the investigation will be a non-biased, non-partisan effort designed to find the truth, right? Thankfully there is not even a smidgen of corruption here…

The IRS has unfortunately been used as a weapon; obviously, Democrats would be all over this is story if a Republican in the White House. I wonder if Liberals honestly believe that the IRS is “phony”. Perhaps they are right that there was no unfair targeting; however, after the coincidental disappearance of Lerner’s emails, this certainly needs to be investigated. Enjoyed the read!

I think liberal voters might believe this is phony but I think those in the government know what was going on. Lerner admitted this was “inappropriate” and she also admitted she was feeling pressure from above to do something so there is no doubt in my mind there is something to this.
You are 100% correct; if the roles were reversed and this was Bush targeting the Occupy movement there would be non-stop coverage in the media.
