Rick Perry orders the Texas National Guard to the border

July 21, 2014

As you have probably heard by now Texas Governor Rick Perry announced today that he is calling the Texas National Guard to the border to assist the Border Patrol which has been sidetracked by the Obama regime during this humanitarian crisis.

Barack Obama and the Democratic party have been promoting the propaganda that most of the people crossing the border are children, but as I pointed out here that is not the truth because the White House has been hiding the numbers about the adults and families which are also crossing the border. In his statement today (which can been seen here) Rick Perry drove that point home when he stated that only 20% of those crossing the border are unaccompanied minors.

He went on to say he “will not stand idly by while our citizens are under assault”  because the “price on inaction is too high.”

Some supporters of Barack Obama and detractors of Rick Perry are sure to claim this sounds quite a bit like the president when he made his infamous statement that he has a pen and a phone and he would act if the Congress failed to.

But there is one clear distinction: as the Governor of a state Rick Perry has the authority to call in the National Guard whereas Barack Obama is using his pen and his phone to work around his legal authority.

Finally somebody is showing some leadership during this manufactured crisis, my only question is; what took him so long?

Here, here for Rick. We will finally get some much needed picks. Let Mexico lobby over some high tech bullets. Just let them.

the problem starts when they figure out that although he can muster the NG, every last bit of equipment is owned by the federal government.

so, no vehicles. no rifles. no body armor (unless they buy their own), no radios. they get not even so much as a pen and paper from the supply closet. not unless the commander in chief releases it. and that’s not very likely.

this whole thing is symbolic at best, at worst it will get some NG killed.

this is why we tried to get a state guard organization started here in NH. it was supposed to have been self-equipped with privately owned vehicles, armed with privately held rifles, and staffed entirely with volunteers. if texas had such an organization, they could be on the border in hours instead of days…since they have no federal component.

        oh wait..THEY DO. https://www.txsg.state.tx.us/

so, that raises the question..why hasn’t governor perry mustered the texas state guard to the border? he could do this easily, and not have to wait for federal approval to use any equipment!

Interesting, it is looking more and more as if this is nothing but a PR move designed to prop himself up before a potential run in 2016.

Can the Feds (Obama and Holder) militarize the National Guard and take them out of there? Just wondering. I am glad Gov Perry has done this, but if he is there just for “show” what good will it do? Are the NG armed? Do they have the go ahead to fire when necessary?
After hearing about the cartel giving cover to the illegals and firing upon our Border Patrol, isn’t that considered an “act of war”? I know, so many questions, but who is there that will answer them? How do you stop them from coming if you cannot turn them around or load them up and ship them out? This has gotten so stupid, What is wrong with the other Governors that they do not have NG on their borders as well? This is not just a problem for the border states, but most people will ignore it until they are knocking at their door OR kicking it in. Then, as usual, they will wonder when this became so wrong! We should be at war with Mexico for what they are allowing to happen. Do I think that will happen with this administration? NO!

Well I do not have many answers for you Lou. I don’t know if Obama can turn around and order them out of there, but from what I have read in several places this really is only a symbolic gesture–probably designed by Perry to gain support for a presidential bid.

If all the anti-Americans were cleared out this Gov., Judicial and Legist. how many do you think would be yet? How many who truly uphold Constitutional Law?
Good for Perry ~ may others follow suit.

Very few would be left, Zip! It seems the longer they are in Congress, the more corrupt they become. Right now there is not much difference between the 2 parties Then I read that Justice Kennedy thinks the Constitution is a “flawed document”!! And, he is the swing vote?? We might be in trouble if he is starting to think this way.

Lou, there is no real difference between the parties any more. They are both big government parties and the only difference is they both feel they should be in charge of the bigger government.

    .

“Rick Perry orders the Texas National Guard to the border.”

To do what; drink beer and play cards? Besides giving the Texas governor ‘grand-standing’ points, what will be accomplished?

Well I guess the NG could set-up welcoming tents with beds and hand out refreshments to the refugees …

A good christain thing to do, don’t ya think?

Yeah, sadly I am beginning to realize this is probably nothing but an attempt by Perry to increase his standing heading into the 2016 election.

The more I hear any of this Administration talk, the more pissed off I am getting. Now we hear that 2 South American presidents had a talk with Obama and have decided if we give them more money, then they might not have the problems they have down there with security. They said it is OUR fault that their people are coming here and at first I thought no it isn’t….but after I thought about it, YES it is! We (Administration) are giving off mixed signals to foreigners about coming here and amnesty, so guess it IS our fault. It is so easy to print off millions or billions of dollars for these foreign countries, but what about the people in this country that need help? I am getting tired of being the worlds keeper, we need to take care of our own. I honestly believe that Obama just doesn’t give a rats ass about us as a nation. Sad, isn’t it? I can think of a lot of presidents that would have told these 2 foreign presidents to get the hell out of our country, but guess we got stuck with one that thinks more highly of them than he does of us.
I very rarely turn on the television anymore but to watch one of the C-span channels to see who is flapping their mouth. Our local paper is a liberal rag, so I rely on what I can pull up on the internet to decide what is going on for myself. It is sad that the media is one sided, but we have to admit that is exactly what they have become. If we had some of the old-timers doing the reporting, this would never have happened. Add to that, the stacking of all the liberal judges in the different courts around the country and we are pretty much screwed. I said the other day, I read that Justice Kennedy (the swing voter) had come out and said that he thought the Constitution was flawed about some issues, that was what hit me hard. We already have enough of the Justices that rule on what they FEEL not what is in the Constitution. If we do not win the Senate back, we might as well throw in the towel, as well. With Harry Reid there, he will never let anything that the House passes that Obama doesn’t like, to come to the floor for a vote. We have a lot of thinking to do about what we want for our country and I would imagine, like me, you all want an honest government. Well, we are up against a time clock to get that done. It is sinking fast and i hope to hell that we can get a lot of them voted out of office and that the voter fraud that is done can be caught before it takes us all down. This last election was a shocker. I know we were all talking and watching as each state came in with the totals. There were some of the states that would NEVER have gone to Obama and all of a sudden they were. However, this Administration knew this was going to happen, that is why there was no panicking going on. Some how, some way they can always come up with the votes needed for a liberal to win. I think we should use the “dip the finger in the inkpot” system to make sure people only vote once, it would be better and then also use the paper ballots. The machines are NOT tamper-proof, I repeat the machines are NOT tamper-proof!!!
