Lois Lerner’s hard drive was only scratched and the data was recoverable before it was destroyed
The story surrounding the circumstances of the destruction of Lois Lerner’s hard drive always seems to be changing. First we were told by the IRS that her hard drive crashed and despite the agency’s best efforts the data could not be recovered so the hard drive was recycled.
Now, according to this story, court documents show that Lois Lerner’s hard drive was only scratched and the data was recoverable but the IRS did not even try.
Here is more:
Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s computer hard drive was “scratched” and the data on it was still recoverable. But the IRS did not try to recover the data from Lerner’s hard drive, despite recommendations from in-house IRS IT experts to outsource the recovery project.
The hard drive was then “shredded,” according to a court filing the IRS made to House Ways and Means Committee investigators.
So, according to the court documents the IT experts at the IRS wanted to outsource the recovery of the hard drive but someone made the decision to instead destroy the evidence hard drive.
But wait, there’s more:
The IRS canceled its contract with its California-based email-archiving company Sonasoft on September 8, 2011, just two months after Lerner’s computer crash, when the agency still possessed a six-month backup tape of Lerner’s emails, which it did not check.
Move along, nothing to see here, there isn’t even a smidgen of corruption at the IRS…

If this scandal ever had legs the administration has successfully chopped them off.

Sadly you are probably right about that and with the MSM ignoring the story nothing will probably come from it.

Smoke and mirrors and then more smoke and mirrors. That’s all we will ever see from the most transparent administration in American history. NOT!!

I wonder if they using their IT personally to fabricate emails as real ones – isn’t that their MO (photoshop birth certif. etc. etc.). If they’d spend time doing their American job – ‘what’s right’ – they wouldn’t have to waste time/effort/resources covering all their lies and deceptions!

I hadn’t thought of that nut I certainly would not put it passed them.

Haven’t they “found” some of the emails that were supposed to be lost? Makes me wonder if they have either been redacted OR produced to say what they want them to say. They are just daring ANYONE to do anything about it and so far, there have been no takers. This has been drawn out for so long it really doesn’t interest most people anymore. As long as there are other major issues that surface then things like this will just fade away. Wait the people out long enough and they lose interest. This has been proven over and over again. I am with you, Zip on this one, I think they are fabricating emails just to placate Congress. Throw in Elijah Cummings and what he keeps repeating, that there is nothing to this and it needs to just go away.

Supposedly some of the emails might not be lost after all, I am sure they are choosing wisely which ones they “find.”

If we get the Senate we might just some decent hearings. Not looking good for your carpet bagger Senate GOPer. Guess it was a given.

Jeanne Shaheen should have been vulnerable but she appears safe, it makes taking back the senate a little bit harder.
