John Boehner rules out impeachment
John Boehner has not said or done much with which I agree since he became Speaker of the House but today he finally said something I agree with when he ruled out the possibility of impeaching Barack Obama.
I have explained why I feel impeachment is the wrong avenue to pursue in going after the president so I will not repeat it here but here is what John Boehner had to say on the subject:
“We have no plans to impeach the president. We have no future plans,” Mr. Beohner said. “Listen, it’s all a scam started by Democrats at the White House.”
However I do disagree with John Boehner on one point.
This was not a scam started by the Democrats; impeachment talk heated up when Sarah Palin called for Barack Obama’s impeachment and it was quickly picked up by lower level Republicans in the House and also pushed by Allen West on Facebook, the Democrats simply saw an opportunity for fundraising off of this issue by promoting the idea that Republican leadership was pushing for impeachment when it is clear that neither Sarah Palin nor Allen West are in any position to do anything other than talk at this point in time.
Today John Boehner put an end to that speculation and if we stay focused on the issues rather than in chasing our tails hoping for what is not going to happen we may be better off come November.

This is the consequence of one falling
off one’s barstool.

The GOP would be better served in advocating getting rid of Reid via taking back the Senate. Still waiting for the GOP to have a coherent agenda.

I agree, that would be more effective but as you alluded to; the GOP doesn’t really know what it stands for any more.

I agree that this is not a scam started by the Democrats. Conservatives have been calling for it almost since day 1 for various reasons.
On a note related to one of your previous posts, it looks like the Republicans have cashing in on this impeachment talk (Democrats also but you’ve already addressed that). I’ll admit that I’ve only skimmed this article at them moment but what I’ve read is enough to make me wonder about their motivations.

Yeah, it looks like both sides at this point are trying to use this issue to fundraise at this point and it is working.

Sorry, I do not want to post this back on Sunday open post, much too important. I know that for those that do NOT live in Illinois this might seem like nothing, but it is really BIG! This has been a democratic hold for years and now it is possible that things are about to change. Since Chicago and the Chicago controlled Springfield government has a hand in what goes on in DC, this might also change things out there if Republicans get in. I know there are those that think Bruce Rauner is a Democrat-lite, but guess we will see how it plays out. I did see in the comments section that they talked about Chicago and East St. Louis voters being the ones that control who is in office. I was wondering, since East St. Louis is basically a welfare city now, how they are getting those people out to vote, OR are they going to their houses to have them do it as they can with shut-ins. I am just wondering, because that seems very strange. They could also be offering an incentive to go vote, isn’t that illegal to pay someone for a vote? Hmmmmm! Chicago inner city is pretty much a welfare city going the way of East St. Louis, as well.

This is big news because if it can happen there it can happen all across the country! By the way, you got a hat tip for this comment on this post.

What is a hat tip and why is it done?

A hat tip is a mention on another blog, it is a usually a compliment and always includes a link to the blog which is “hat-tipped.” Something along the lines of when I write something like this: I first saw this story at —– you should check out what they wrote. It is a way of helping people who read other blogs find you blog as well. In this case the writer of the post mentioned you as the source of what he wrote and provided a link directly to your comment above.

“John Boehner rules out impeachment.”
Ah shucks. This would have been so much fun to watch. Just imagine Gomhert, King, and Gowdy trying out crazy each other. Oh the circus …….
Besides, after the voters turn out in November 2014 to turn-out the Republican’T Party members in Congress, this is the only chance for Speaker Of The House Boehner to bring impeachment to the floor. One can expect the Democratic Party will control the House Of Representatives in the next Congress.

Maybe the GOP leadership isn’t as stupid as we think they are…at least on this issue.
