Eric Holder aide accidentally calls Darrell Issa’s office to ask for help spinning the IRS scandal

September 9, 2014

eric_holder_oped--300x300 If this story is true it is an absolutely stunning revelation in the IRS targeting scandal–and I am one who thought I could no longer be stunned by anything coming from the Obama regime.

Darrell Issa sent a letter to Eric Holder yesterday in which he accused one of the beleaguered Attorney General’s aides of accidentally calling his office to ask for help in spinning the IRS targeting scandal by leaking some documents related to the scandal.

Darrell Issa believes the call was meant to go to Elijah Cumming’s office. Surprise, surprise! Here is more:

The aide, Brian Fallon, is a former senior aide to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and a well-known personality on Capitol Hill. The letter describes Fallon as “audibly shaken” when he realizes his request to leak documents to help get ahead of news stories about them was mistakenly made to the very office he was seeking to undermine. Issa believes the call was intended to be made to Democratic Rep. Elijah Cumming’s staff, the ranking member on the oversight panel, the letter said.

According to the letter, Fallon – who is not named in the letter but confirmed he made the call – asked if the aides could release the IRS scandal documents to “selected reporters” to give Fallon an “opportunity to comment publicly on it.”

Fallon explained to Issa aides that the Justice Department’s Office of Legislative Affairs had not permitted him to release the documents to the public and he wanted to get ahead of the story “before the Majority” – meaning Issa – could share it, according to the letter.

According to the story this request naturally caught Darrell Issa’s aides off guard so they asked him to send them an email, this apparently tipped off Fallon that something was wrong so he put them on hold.

When he came back to the conversation Fallon was singing a different tune:

Issa aides – who had placed the call on speakerphone – were “caught off guard by the unusual nature of the call and the odd request” and asked Fallon to “e-mail the material for evaluation.”

“At this point,” Fallon “abruptly placed the call on hold for approximately three minutes.” When Fallon returned to the call, “he was audibly shaken. He immediately stated that there was a ‘change in plans’ and that there would be no effort” by DOJ to release the material early.

Fallon “proceeded to pitch the idea that the Department and the Committee should ‘help one another’ while simultaneously saying that ‘you need to say what you need to say.’”

Darrell Issa naturally concluded the obvious–the Department of Injustice and  Elijah Cummings are working together to undermine the investigation for political reasons.

This shines an equally bad light on Eric Holder (who has already been held in contempt) and Elijah Cummings if this is true.

But, of course, there is not even a smidgen of corruption here…

Wow, double wow. There was a hearing by Issa today regarding complaints from the Inspectors General that they were not getting documents from the EPA, FBI and another agency and were stone walling them. Not a smidgen.

This is a huge turn of events! I cannot believe Drudge has not linked to it yet.

Maybe this was a replay of an old hearing! http://rt.com/usa/178740-inspectors-general-government-documents/

I’m finding that Drudge isn’t linking to many needed headlines. I use to consider his site as a resource but find lately some of what he highlights is getting very close to promoting the ‘sensationalism’ and distractions (just some ugly things) rather than informative and revealing the bigger picture (news that is transparent). Like you stated ‘why hasn’t he picked this story up?’ or why not these: “Iran Supreme Leader: Prepare for ‘New World Order’ that will ‘Replace America and Capitalism’” / “Dem Senate Candidate Dodges Questions About Ties to Communist Group.” Instead of connecting the dot of somethings going on and who’s behind them he reports: ‘Ebola Exploding’ or a.k.a. obama as a super man going against ISIS – why not show picts of him inviting them to dinner? Or, state that they’ve (this Adminst.) been trying to get a war going in Syria for a year – last time using the chem. false flag that didn’t work. Just seems like Drudge has his news bent … similar to the main media now.

Bunkerville, I just saw on the Daily Caller something about the stonewalling. It is not a replay, it is the way they play the game. 😉

Zip, I agree with you on Drudge. Lately he hasn’t been linking to things that I find important. The whole Sam football story and others which are not really political seem to get more headlines than they should while the more important stories seem to get buried.

I guess contemptable people are proud to be held in contempt. It’s as if everyone in the Obama administration was cloned from the same peice of feces.

As this corrupt administration loves to say, “we will find the responsible parties, and bring them to justice” whenever we feel it is in our best interest. Heads we win, tails we loose.

I am finding some of the best up to date articles on Lucianne.com , in case anyone needs another “go to” place. This little tid-bit just shows you a little bit more into how Cummings operates. If you have ever seen him on C-Span during the hearings, he does nothing but run cover for whoever is on the hot seat. I have never trusted this man! He bullies anyone on the committee that is trying to get to the bottom of what went on and interrupts with his “point of order, Mr. Chairman” constantly….Issa usually tells him NO, but he has interrupted all the same. I can only imagine that he is right in the middle of what is going on, so this doesn’t surprise me that they were trying to contact his office. He has alot to lose if this goes DOWN. Chances are fairly slim that anything will happen, but we have to hope that it will.

Thanks for the resource Lou. I like viewing dc clothing, Blacklisted news, The Liberty Mill (a composite of sites) – sometimes check Drudge to see what he’s shining the light on, as ‘important’ [some of it reminds me of ‘back in the day’ was called ‘toilet humor’ – it’s that needless ‘waste’ that diverts from the focus and subject].
Just like you watching the Wizard [who was a carnival showman] of OZ movie with your grandson, the OZ ‘image’ wasn’t the source, but those ‘reporting’ today tend to point to (photo ops of pawn leaders), rather than getting to the meat and facts – which is the ‘real news’ we need to know, so we can prepare – like knowing the weather. Realizing the truth: that those in leadership positions usually are not for us, no matter how hard we ‘believe’! Even those in the old West knew THAT! The corrupting effects of unrestrained power, ill-gotten money and manipulative politics.
      Example: http://www.blacklistednews.com/ISIS_HYPE%3A_False_Threats%2C_Staged_Executions%2C_While_Israel_%E2%80%98Expands%E2%80%99/37848/0/38/38/Y/M.html
The more truth we have in us, the more discerning we can be and make wiser decisions and choices.

Will check out The Liberty Mill, have not heard of it! Thanks. It just amazes me that so many people take the people “in charge” at their word! We put them there and we should be able to trust them, but we know differently. Sometimes you just cannot get them voted out of office, once there, they are not leaving unless it is by kicking and screaming. I really hate throwing my money away on corrupt politicians. I live in Illinois, I KNOW what I am talking about!
As to your comment about Drudge, it used to be one of my first “go to” sites, but I am finding that there is alot of STUFF that I just do not care to see….I really don’t care about what Beyonce is doing, etc. I go to this site first, then to Lucianne, Weaselzippers, The Right Scoop, Downtrend, WND, Canadafreepress, Daily Sheeple, Politibrew, Judicial Watch, Breitbart, I own the World, to name a few
I am sure everyone has their favorite places!

You’ll like The Liberty Mill. Another resource: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlLvjERVRVo&list=UUB1o7_gbFp2PLsamWxFenBg
You can find the script on his webpage – x22 report. Utube cancelled his site for a while, but got so many complaints that they re-instated it. The host, Dave, states that the ones behind the curtain are the ‘central bankers’ and those in the US Gov. who do the dirty work for them (all part of the global agenda). Exposing the source is looked down upon by the criminals, as ‘hate & lies’! Thanks Steve for letting us communicate this way! 😊

Thanks for that site Lou, I have not been there before but I am always looking for new sources. It has been clear that Cummings has been running interference in the investigation and now we have proof that it was coordinated with the DO(I)J. Where is the outcry!?
