DCCC hits Rush Limbaugh on his rape comments
As you may or may not know, I am not a fan of Rush Limbaugh. It seems to me that he does more harm than good to the conservative cause in the interest of self-promotion.
We saw this in 2012 when the Democrats were laying the foundation for the war on women angle which they eventually used to help them in presidential election. When Sandra Fluke burst on the scene Rush Limbaugh, in his infinite wisdom, called her a slut and said she should provide a sex tape so that he could get something out of it.
After days of laughing about the reaction of the mainstream media to his comments he was finally forced to apologize when he realized it was hurting his bottom line. But the damage was done as he played right into the Democrats trap and helped them to escalate the war on women angle. There is no doubt in my mind that Rush Limbaugh’s comment, and his continual commentary on his original comment, helped the Democrats to win in 2012. How much of a role it played I do not know, but I do believe it did play a role.
And then earlier this year he compared Harry Reid’s feelings toward the Koch brothers to that of Elliot Rodger’s before he went on a killing spree, claiming the warning signs were there and something needed to be done about the Senate majority leader before it was too late. This was clearly a joke but it was not productive to the cause. This will give the Democrats fodder to use against conservatives in the election.
Now he is at it again; he recently made a comment that when a woman says no it could really mean yes. Here is what he said:
“How many guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that no means yes if you know how to spot it?” Limbaugh said. “Are these [policies] not lawsuits waiting to happen?”
Needless to say, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee quickly jumped on these comments in a recent email fundraiser. Here is more:
“Comments of this offensive nature are inexcusable… Rush Limbaugh is advocating for the tolerance of sexual assault. He should be taken off the air immediately.” The email then directs recipients to a form where they are required to fill out their email address and have the option of supplying the DCCC with their zip code.
At least one Democrat saw the DCCC email as inappropriate and hypocritical:
“Using rape to build lists is just wrong, and they’d slam any Republican doing it,” one Democratic campaign strategist wrote in an email. “Limbaugh’s comments are disgusting, and should be called out, but this is the wrong way of doing it.”
But honestly who can blame the DCCC for using this as an opportunity to make sure the war on women angle is again in play in 2014? I think it is about time for Rush Limbaugh to untie the half of his brain he has been sitting on all these years because he clearly does not understand how much damage his comments–even if they are in jest–have on the bigger picture.
He should stop thinking of ways to inflame the left (for inflaming them only motivates them to vote in a year where they are not motivated) and start focusing on ways to defeat them instead. And this is not the way. He, more than perhaps anyone else, should realize how his words are going to be used by the opposition.

As usual, you are right on the mark Steve. Rush has become a kind of a shock jock, and out of depraved interest, it is fun to listen a little, but it gives the left so much amo, we just don’t need it.

Thanks Bruce and your shock jock analogy is spot on. It might play well to the base and it might keep his ratings up but in the end it does not help the cause. I think it is plain to see he is only interested in himself.

Bennett has turned out to be a disapointment. Savage gets on my nerves, Levin’s need to educate gets old and wears think. Our talkers are heading south.

I continue to sing the praise of Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager. Humor, high quality guests, very wide range of issues, and very intelligent.

They don’t seem to be around when I can hear them. When I have heard them, I agree.

I have not heard either one of them. I do not think they are in my area.

I don’t listen to much talk radio but to me it seems as if Levin is the one motivated the least by personal gain.

Once in awhile I will put him on at lunch to see what he is talking about and it is usually himself or a product he is selling.

When the Dems have Amerikán women wearing Burqa’s (except at their private ‘unspeakable’ parties) and enforcing Sharia Law, then they’ll be safe! The way they twist things to fit the Agenda, or like Hilloray stated, ‘following orders’ [Who gave those orders?], their definition of ‘safe’ is Maximum Security.
Use to listen to Rush, but he tends to rattle more than provide the news – another divider for personal gain and interest. Same with the others noted + Hannity – esp. irritating when he and Colmes (hollow be his name) had their Fox debut airing. Hewitt & Prager are more God conscious – which to me, makes them more sound of mind and intent. The orders they follow may be backed more w/ Sound Mindedness Himself – there is a difference! A renewed mind by God’s Word, rather than the depraved mind of the liar.
