Gunrunner: Court denies DOJ request to delay releasing a list of withheld documents
On the same day that the Obama regime announced that Eric Holder would be stepping down as Attorney General once his replacement was confirmed the same department was dealt a slight blow in the courts regarding Fast and Furious.
This has led some to speculate that these two events are connected but I do not think that is the case. Eric Holder’s resignation has been rumored for some time now and while I do not generally believe in coincidences when it comes to politics I fail to see how this ruling would lead Eric Holder to resign.
I have always believed that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick was going to be Barack Obama’s next choice in the event of a Supreme Court opening but it now appears as if this may signal Eric Holder will be that choice, with Deval Patrick replacing Eric Holder. In my opinion it is much more likely that this move was made to set up Eric Holder as a Supreme Court nominee than it is that the Republicans actually drove him from office.
With that being said let us move on to today’s court decision and as I said it was a small victory. Judicial Watch sued the Department of Injustice for a list of documents which were sealed under Executive Privilege by Barack Obama once it looked as though the walls were closing in on the soon to be ex-Attorney General.
On August 20th a court ruled that the Department of Injustice must release a list of the above mentioned documents and predictably the department appealed, looking for a delay.
Today Judge John D. Bates denied that request, here is more:
U.S. District Court Judge John D. Bates has denied a request from the Department of Justice to delay the release of a list of Operation Fast and Furious documents being protected under President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege.
“The government’s arguments for even more time are unconvincing,” Bates said in his ruling. “[S]eventy-five days—plus another twenty-one, based in part on Judiciary Watch’s consent—is enough time for the government to prepare the index that this Court has ordered, given that this matter has been pending for over two years. The Court will therefore extend the Department’s Vaughn index submission deadline to October 22, 2014—and no further.”
“The government argues that it must devote significant numbers of attorneys to this matter if it hopes to comply with the current Vaughn index deadline … But the Department has known about its Vaughn index obligations since July 18, 2014 … At best, it means the Department has been slow to react to this Court’s previous Order. At worst, it means the Department has ignored that Order until now,” he added.
It must be remembered at this point that if the Department of Injustice complies with this order that it would not be releasing the content of these documents, it only means the department would be releasing a list of the documents and nothing more.
So why is the Department of Injustice balking at releasing even a list of the documents? Could it be that it would show this scandal goes much deeper than we have been led to believe? Could it be that a list of the documents would show that in addition to the Department of Injustice the State Department, the Treasury Department, the White House, and others were also involved in the scandal which led to the deaths of Brian Terry and Jamie Zapata?
I can think of no other reason…

Now we understand why Supreme Ginsberg has been under pressure to resign. Why else would she be in the news and keep saying she isn’t going anywhere. We shall see if she kicks the bucket before December. My Tin Foil just slipped out — desperate to get Holder in. Yep, she is a goner. At the least they will get Holder’s replacement in before the end of the year.

I am right there with you on this! The left wants Ginsberg to retire so Obama can get a younger liberal on the bench, they fear she will hold on and if a republican win in 2016 a conservative will appoint her replacement. I have no doubt Obama will do whatever it takes to “convince” her to retire.

They’ll make it look like a natural death if she doesn’t bow down – masqueraded as a heart attack, which is common these days with an element that’s not detectable after a few hours.
It seems logical that certain ‘players’ will be kept in the positions of leadership who prove themselves ‘successful’ in dismantling America. People like Holder aren’t going away, rather replicating themselves in other branches of the Agenda’s program. The ones who are selected seem to be the very ones we detest – they’re hard on the eyes and ears.

OT, does anyone see 4 dancing lights up in the sky tonight? They are up in the clouds and going out 4 different direction then come back to the center and swirl around each other. It is 8:15 central time and has been going on for close to a half hour. And, no, I have not been drinking Bushmills!

I saw some news about this Lou a couple of days ago – interviewing a lady who’d filmed 4 lights in the night sky with her cell phone. They were moving around in the sky, in a diamond formation. I looked at the videos with your article and they were not the same. These were very smokey/hazy looking and moving out to a 4 corner look and then back to the middle and circling….almost like square-dancing. It went on for about an hour or so and then disappeared. Who the hell knows what it was, but it was pretty neat looking.

It is this Administration that has driven us to drink and I am sticking with that sentiment!
I am still here, although I will admit there are probably people in my life that would wish otherwise!
Now, back to the problem(s) at hand….I do not think that AG Holder is leaving because he has the heat on him, since when have they ever worried about that? I believe that they have plans and are putting them into place, maybe a bit before they want to, but they know what they want the end game to be. We have to try and stop them, but the Republican Party is never a step ahead of them, there in lies the problem!

Same here, Obama has driven me t the bottle! Seriously though, you are right; Holder and Obama do not give a damn what the people think of them so Holder leaving has nothing to do with what is going on. This is all about setting him up for the next move.

I shared some of these comments with my sister, she laughed. But, she doesn’t believe that Holder would be accepted as a SCOtus candidate because of his bad rep. I told her that would be ‘what qualifies him’ to get in!

Zip, my daughter and I have a personal joke about Calgon taking us away, funny you brought that up! I hope your sister doesn’t have an opinion that we are “not right” in the mind! I agree with you, Holder is exactly what Obama is looking for in a SC nominee. I do not think that Ginsberg is ready to give up, as of yet, but she may be forced into it. I know that someone in another blog mentioned Kennedy being taken out, but I remember him saying that he would not retire until there was another conservative/republican holding the office. Guess we will see!

Holder may be tough to get confirmed to SCOTUS, especially if the Republicans win in November. But that is what the spying program is for, we already know they were spying on the Congress and on at least one judge who is now on SCOTUS. (Perhaps Roberts, hence his Obamacare reversal.)

John Roberts adopted a couple of children and the rumor is that he illegally trafficked them out of Ireland in order to adopt them and that is what the Obama regime held over his head. There is no doubt in my mind is has something on almost everybody, especially the leaders of the opposition.

If there is one thing we have learned from watching the Obama administration in action, it is that they do nothing unless they either want to, or are forced into it. It doesn’t seem to matter what the courts rule, they usually ignore the orders, unless they are inclined to do otherwise.
As for Eric Holder being forced out of office, I seriously doubt that’s the case. He has given no indication he would leave before he was ready to do so. What Obama and Holder is up to is anyone’s guess, but I suspect Holder’s resignation has nothing to do with anything good for the American people. The thought of the man setting on the Supreme Court is not a pleasant one.

Holder on the Supreme Court is something that I do not even want to think about this but we need to remember that Obama is always one step ahead of everybody else so there is no doubt he has something up his sleeve.
