Media claims Michelle Obama mispronounced Bruce Braley’s name seven times on purpose

October 13, 2014

michelle obama How about something on the lighter side tonight? Just in case you have not heard; the other day Michelle Obama attended a campaign event for  Iowa Senate candidate Bruce Braley and while throwing her support behind him she flubbed his last name seven times–calling him Bailey instead of Braley–before a somebody in the crowd corrected her. She didn’t even know his name but apparently she knew he had to be elected to the Senate.

We on the right love to talk about media bias and now we have a perfect example because according to this article three members of the media are now suggesting that Michelle Obama did this on purpose.

  Here is more:

Not one, not two, but three prominent media figures are floating the idea that Michelle Obama (and Bill Clinton, apparently) intentionally butchered Iowa Senate candidate Bruce Braley’s name seven times last Friday.

Let’s begin with the third hour of NBC’s “Today.”News Busters reports that during a discussion of Michelle’s name flub, co-host Willie Geist noted that Michelle would have had a teleprompter with Braley’s name on it. “But now he’s getting a lot of name recognition,” he pointed out. “Maybe it was like evil genius move, who knows?”

  And:

Meanwhile, Politico’s Hadas Gold independently reached the same conclusion on Twitter.

Everyone’s talking about the mispronunciation of Braley/Bailey…but now a lot more people know his name. on purpose?

  And still:

But Bloomberg Politics’ Dave Weigel has another idea.

Theory: Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama cleverly botched Bruce Braley’s name in order to allow him to distance himself from the president.

Okay, out of the two excuses being put forth the latter one is more believable. Not knowing Bruce Braley’s name would show that the Obama’s are not tight with him, but if this were the case why would she have gone there to endorse him in the first place?

And for the idea Michelle Obama was trying to get this guy name recognition (and if that is the case it did work because I had never heard of this guy before) what difference, at this point, does it make if people around the country who cannot vote for the man suddenly know his name? If the people in Iowa, who can actually vote for him, do not know his name he has a bigger problem.

The notion that Michelle Obama flubbed Bruce Braley’s name on purpose to help him politically is asinine on its face but it does show you are far the media will go to protect the Obama’s, and the Democrats, from embarrassment. Do you think the media would give a Republican the same benefit of the doubt? Rhetorical question…

I know! When I started the post it was meant to be on the lighter side, but as I wrote it it turned into business as usual…

The ‘Con Men’ at work. I think that’s what HillAry meant when she stated about ‘working so hard’ – doing a good con takes a lot of work (until the public is so numb, they’re easy to con). Here’s something that expresses the one of the great Con’s of the day. Explaining the depth of a perverse generation and the small mindedness: http://youtu.be/B_eV_RnAAKQ?t=32s (it’s short, pretty much to the point). I noticed he ‘Disabled comments’ – I guess so – imagine the feedback of viciousness he’d get!

It reminds me of when then-candidate Obama spoke at the University of Cincinnati in 2008. I went to hear him, and as I remember it, he opened with something like, “It’s great to be here at Ohio State University. Go Bobcats!” (The UC mascot is the Bearcat; Ohio University is the Bobcats, while Ohio State is the Buckeyes. Oops.)

I’m sure he had a busy speaking schedule in 2008, but it was still funny.

        I’m sure they tried!

“Now remember, before you launch into the speech you give everywhere, remember to say ‘Go Bearcats’ to personalize it!”
