Barack Obama claims a future Republican President cannot use Executive action to lower taxes

November 24, 2014

In the wake of Barack Obama’s Executive action on immigration reform/amnesty George Stephanopolous asked the President if this set a precedent which would allow future Presidents to use this action to lower taxes.

Because there is only one party talking about lowering taxes it is evident that Mr. Stephanopolous is asking the President if a future Republican President can follow in the footsteps of Barack Obama and use Executive action on the issue of taxes.

Here is a video of the rambling, nearly incoherent response Barack Obama gave to the question:

If you are like me any you cannot stand to hear this man’s voice here is the transcript of the inquiry:

Stephanopolous asked: “How do you respond to the argument, a future president comes in and wants lower taxes. Doesn’t happen. Congress won’t do it; so he says ‘I’m not going to prosecute those who don’t pay capital gains tax.’”

“The truth of the matter is George,” said the President, haltingly, “The reason that we, have to do.. uhm prosecutorial discretion in immigration, is that we know, that we – are not even close to being able to deal with the folks who have been here a long time…” Obama then pivoted to immigration talking points, without addressing the original question.

“The vast majority of folks understand that they need to pay taxes, and when we conduct an audit, for example, we are selecting those folks who are most likely to be cheating,” said Obama. “We’re not going after millions and millions of people who everybody knows are here and were taking advantage of low wages as they’re mowing lawns or cleaning out bedpans, and looking the other way.”

“So you don’t think it’d be legitimate for a future president to make that argument?” Stephanopoulos said.

Obama: “With respect to taxes? Absolutely not.”

What I find most interesting about  this comment is this: While he admits the IRS is only going after the people who are most likely to cheat on their taxes while leaving millions alone he is ignoring the fact that his Executive action has done the opposite. He is ignoring the people who have tried to emigrate legally to the United States while rewarding the millions who have cheated the system.

Funny as Hell, AND, they captured his ARROGANCE perfectly!! In fact, I am sure he would love to push Boehner (and all us Constitution lovers) right down those stairs!
