Newly released emails show Lois Lerner met with the Department of Justice before the 2010 election

December 13, 2014

According to this story, newly released documents obtained by Judicial Watch show that the Department of Injustice was in contact with Lois Lerner about prosecuting certain tax-exempt organizations a full two years before the IRS targeted Tea Party related groups. In fact it now looks as if the groundwork may have been laid shortly before the 2010 election.

  Here is more:

Judicial Watch today released internal Department of Justice (DOJ) documents revealing that former IRS official Lois Lerner had been in contact with DOJ officials about the possible criminal prosecution of tax-exempt entities two full years before what the IRS conceded was its “absolutely inappropriate” 2012 targeting of the organizations. According to the newly obtained documents, Lerner met with top Obama DOJ Election Crimes Branch officials as early as October 2010.

As result of a court order, the DOJ last month produced only two pages of heavily redacted emails (832 pages were withheld in entirety) that show the Obama Justice Department initiated an October 8, 2010, meeting between the IRS and top criminal prosecutors at the DOJ Public Integrity Section and Election Crimes Division  “concerning 501(c)(4) issues.”  On September 29, 2010, a DOJ official (whose name is blacked out) emailed a staff assistant at the IRS (whose name is also redacted):

As we discussed this afternoon, we would like to invite Ms. Ingram [apparent reference to Sarah Hall Ingram former commissioner, IRS Tax Exempt and Government Entities] to meet with us concerning 501(c)(4) issues, and propose next Friday at 10:00 a.m. We are located in the Bond Building, 12th Floor, New York Avenue, NW, Thank you for your assistance.

The document shows that the unknown DOJ official setting up the meeting is with the Election Crimes Division of the Public Integrity Section of the DOJ’s Criminal Division. (Judicial Watch believes the redacted name of the DOJ official is Richard Pilger, Director of the Election Crimes Division.)  The DOJ email setting up the IRS meeting is cc’d to the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section Chief, Jack Smith, and Principal Deputy Chief Raymond Hulser.  The documents show that Ingram was not available but arranged for her deputy, Lois Lerner, then-Director of the IRS Exempt Organizations branch, to meet with the DOJ senior officials.

lois lerner At the time of this ccorrespondencethere was a huge conservative movement against Obamacare which led to the formation of the Tea Party and eventually to the election which Barack Obama himself called a “shellacking.”

These are not stupid people so this election did not catch them off-guard–everybody saw it coming–but there was nothing they could do about it at the time. It was too late to save the 2010 election but perhaps they were determined to make sure it did not happen again–by any means necessary.

Or was it just a coincidence?

Looks like the best we can hope for is watching the tube as the GOP Senate holds various hearings. We might just nail a few and put them in the slammer. Other than that, I guess we will just have to choke through most of next year thanks to Boehner. Still not anything on the news about the Omnibus bill and what is in it. ZIp on Fox this morning.

That is all we have at this point with Boehner selling us down the river. Sad really, to think that he threw away the election results before the new Congress could be sworn in.

So, what you are saying is that we have been lied to in front of the hearing panel and nothing has been done about it? They are playing us for fools and our REPUBLICANS are allowing this to happen. If any of us had pulled the crap this Administration has been pulling for 6+ years, we would be serving time. I really, really wish the REPUBLICANS would get a stiffer backbone, forget about what people think of them and go after these bastids HARD. The more they back off and don’t do anything the more the Administration is empowered. That should make us feel all warm and fuzzy this morning.
I watched some of C-span2 yesterday. I saw Lindsey Graham telling the right that if they vote against this crap bill, they are in the wrong. HE is voting for it because not so much of what needs to be taken out of it, but what is IN it for the military and medical. He said we will fight Amnesty after the new Senate and House take control, but you and I both know once it is in force, it will be hell to dismantle. Forget that we will be bringing in millions of more people to support, guess to him, that is a minor point. He was just so full of himself, He was smacking the Republicans on the hand and was just being a butt! He went after Liz Warren, as well. Basically if you voted NO on the bill, then you were not doing what is right for the American people. After all, he has been around for 20 years and he knows what is best for the little people. This is why we need a certain limit to terms and they are OUT OF THERE.

The establishment Republicans do not like the Tea Party either because they see them as a threat to their power. So I don’t think they care if the IRS targeted them or not but they have to put on a show and make it look like they are doing something about it when they are not.

Saw this yesterday: Sheriff Joe scores victory against Obama’s amnesty http://www.wnd.com/2014/12/sheriff-joe-scores-victory-against-obamas-amnesty/
‘A judge has sided with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in the first clash in what is expected to be a major court fight over the legality of President Obama’s executive immigration actions, ordering a fast track for case arguments and hearings.’
The ‘kibosh’ was placed on the fraud prez’s ‘birth certificate’ findings (nothing being said or done – another sick/perversion), but this seems a possible Constitutional advantage:
‘Klayman argued that similar to his case against National Security Agency snooping, “one day that constitutional rights are violated is one day too long.”
“In the NSA case, the Fourth Amendment rights of nearly all Americans were violated. In this case concerning Obama’s immigration order, the constitutional powers of the Congress are being flouted,” he said. [like Congress isn’t in on it – but at least it’s being brought up].

It is nice that the judge sided with Joe, but it still remains that Obama goes ahead like there is no problem. He didn’t actually sign an Executive Order, but was more like a couple of Memo’s correct? So how do you fight him on an EO if it doesn’t exist? Don’t alot of the Governors of states have lawsuits against him for the EO? If it doesn’t exist, have they been made to look like fools? However, he is going ahead with the Amnesty as if he HAD signed the EO. What is wrong with this picture? How can you put something into law that was never a law? How can HE make a law when it is the House of Representatives that are “supposed” to be doing that, passed by the Senate and only “signed” into law by the president? Am I missing something here? It is to the point, all he has to do is SAY he is doing something and it becomes so….what does that make him? King? Dictator? Leader? What the hell is this man?

That is a great start but as Lou said, who is going to make him obey the court?
