Open thread for Sunday, December 14th: Shadowplay
Here is the open thread for Sunday, December 14th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
It was a bit slower this week with 11 posts, but did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?
I often write about the Hegelian Dialectic but what is it? Why, it is nothing more than “Shadowplay” so here is Joy Division.
Enjoy:

Here is something to take your mind off that damn vote:
Kate Davis and she is laid back and pretty cool!

No problem, her style has progrssed the last few years to very soulful. I took classical piano and eased into dixieland jazz, but have not played in years. After seeing her piano player, might have to ask Santa for a keyboard, my fingers wanted to play along with him.😊

I took piano lessons for a little while when I was a kid as well. Did not get very far but I can still read sheet music and can remember the opening refrains of “Fur Elise” when I see a piano. 🙂

I took lessons, forever! This is Jean Kittrell and the St. Louis Rivermen, they have been playing since the early 70’s and one of the reasons I loved piano. Jean started teaching English at SIU-E the year after I started college and I have been a big fan of hers ever since. I am a River Rat and she was a teacher, but she also played on the St. Louis Belle for years and down on Lacledes Landing and I had the pleasure of seeing her play many times. She is getting on in years and still belting the songs out and oh can she play. I do not think I have ever seen her NOT in a shimmy dress and she was always a big flirt…hope you enjoy this:

Joy Division is one of my favorites as well, too bad they were not around longer! I have heard of UK Subs but had not listened to them before. I have not listen to the whole thing yet but I like it so far.

Here is a short video by Paul Harvey about Policemen. It is damned if you do and damned if you don’t if you are a Policeman. My Dad and brother were both Policemen and I know you can get a bad seed in any profession, but what they are now trying to say about ALL Policemen is a crock of sh*t. That is my opinion on it. I am getting real tired of Al Sharpton and his “brothers” just out and out calling for killing police. When are Obama or Holder going to step up to the plate and shut this crap down???? Never, they want it to happen, so I hope the Police stay safe, so they are able to go home to their families!

That was very good, thanks for sharing. There is no doubt that there are some bad apples in the police force but what Holder and Obama are trying to do to the entire police force for political reasons is disgusting!
