Barack Obama says Sony should have called him before cancelling “The Interview” but Sony says they did
During his last press conference before heading to Asia, er I mean Hawaii, for a vacation (if you don’t understand the reference see here for a refresher) Barack Obama weighed in on Sony’s decision to cancel The Interview and this is what he had to say:
“I wish they had spoken to me first,” he said, when asked his opinion on the matter. “I would have told them, ‘Do not get into a pattern in which you’re intimidated by these kind of criminal attacks.’”
But Sony CEO Michael Lynton claims they did in fact reach out to the White House, here is his response:
[Sony Pictures CEO Michael] Lynton reacted to Obama’s comment that he wished Sony had reached out to them. “We definitely spoke to a senior advisor in the White House to talk about the situation. The fact is, did we talk to the president himself? … The White House was certainly aware of the situation.”
So which is it? Who do you believe? There is always the possibility that whomever Sony was in contact with in the White House did not notify the President about the phone call. But that seems unlikely due to the fact that Barack Obama referred to this event as a “criminal attack” and with this being such a high profile case you would think he would have been notified.
While we are on the subject I would like to take this opportunity to make a prediction: The Obama regime is going to try to take advantage of this crisis using the Hegelian Dialectic as proof that it is time to crack down on the internet and give the government more power over it.
I will not be surprised if during his State of the Union speech Barack Obama makes this a top priority…

Let Sony do what it’s going to do and keep his nose out of things.

I with you on this, Steve. There’s been a lot of high profile hack attacks in the news recently and I was thinking they are setting the stage for more government control. I’m sure they would do as well the NSA stopping so many terrorist attacks with their world wide snooping.

I have been waiting for a major outlet to make this connection and none have but it seems obvious to me what is coming.

There is no doubt about it in my mind. There is more to this than we are being told and the secret lies in those emails I think.

For all we know ‘the criminal in chief’ gave the okay for his hackers to do their thing, in order to use it to point a finger at N. Korea (not saying I’m in approval of them, BUT I’m not in approval of the fraud in charge either). Local news in NV did a segment on this with ‘Ghost Systems’
“Constant attacks. Their origins plotted but deceiving.
An attack Friday targeting Seattle appears to be coming from China. In fact, it may only be routed through there.
“He could be sitting right across the street in Seattle,” says Rucci. “He could be their biggest competitor across the street.”” http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/Cyber-Security-Experts-Doubt-FBI-Conclusion-On-Sony-Hack-286421241.html

I had not thought of that but now that you mention it I would not doubt Obama had something to do with this behind the scenes. Thanks for the link.
