Majority Whip Steve Scalise did NOT speak in front of a white nationalist conference after all

January 1, 2015

Steve_Scalise  Many headlines have been written about Majority Whip Steve Scalise and him having given a speech in front of the European-American Unity and Rights conference back in 2002.

This story was first reported by a blogger before being picked up by mainstream outlets and eventually social media was ablaze with the story. And of course Democrats called for him to step down not only from his leadership position but also from the Congress.

Steve Scalise claimed he did not remember speaking to the group and said that if he knew what the organization stood for he would not have spoke in front of it, and he eventually apologized:

“It was a mistake I regret, and I emphatically oppose the divisive racial and religious views groups like these hold,”

Well, if this story is correct, he has a good reason for not remembering talking to this group–he did not!

   Here is more:

Reports that Rep. Steve Scalise, the third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, gave a speech to a white nationalist conference connected with David Duke in 2002 are not accurate, the man who organized the events said Wednesday (Dec. 31).

Kenny Knight, a longtime political adviser to Duke, said Scalise spoke at a meeting of the Jefferson Heights Civic Association — not affiliated with the European-American Unity and Rights conference that was held in the same Metairie hotel — two-and-a-half hours before the white nationalist event started.

Barbara Noble, who was dating Knight and said she attended the meeting, also said Wednesday that Scalise spoke to the civic group, not EURO.

To quote Rick Perry, “whoops.” It turns out Steve Scalise talked to a different group over two hours before the white nationalist organization’s conference and the only connections are that the two events happened to take place at the same venue and the same person organized them. That hardly means Steve Scalise shares the views of those who attended the  European-American Unity and Rights conference.

I will be waiting to read all the retractions from the mainstream media, but more importantly I will be waiting to hear the apologies from the Democrats who jumped to an erroneous conclusion.

Of course I know that will never happen and in fact now that Steve Scalise has apologized for speaking  in front of an event he did not speak in front of I expect his political opponents to use the apology against him when he is up for reelection without regard for the truth.

When democrats and any faction of the left go elephant hunting never ever let facts and the truth interfere with their safari. Black caucuses African this black that get whitey hate whitey kill whitey reverse discriminate against whitey 13% of the population having 99%of the players in a professional sport OK 75% of the population having 75% of the coaching staffs is racist. Nothing new here.

The truth will be buried once again by the MSM, I’m sure. Besides, who cares if Charlie Rangel really is a tax cheat or President Obama just lied for the 100,000th time? Just more truth to sweep under the rug. Better to blame everything on Bush.

The apology will prove to be damning even though the story is false! he knew he did not believe what this organization stood for and even he himself fell for the false narrative and now it will be used against him by unscrupulous Democrats and the MSM.

I saw this article elsewhere and wondered how it will play out, especially given who is stating what happened. Americans in general, and conservatives in particular have been trained to apologize first, and determine the facts later. We must bow and scrape before the all might Rev Al. The Koran says non-believers must to pay a tax, similarly, leftist expect conservatives to pay a tax (penalty) if they don’t follow orders.
The left will do everything in it power to play this up, but I don’t think it will have legs

Exactly, the PC police got him with this one. he thought he was doing the right thing by apologizing but because it turns out he had nothing to apologize for it is going to come back to haunt him.
