The White House claims calling the terrorist attack in France ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ is not accurate

 To date Barack Obama has refused to call the terrorist attack in France what it was–an act of terrorism by radicalized Muslims.

  Today White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest defended this decision thusly:

“We want to describe exactly what happened. These are individuals who carried out an act of terrorism, and they later tried to justify that act of terrorism by invoking the religion of Islam in their own deviant view of it,” he said.

Critics of Obama have questioned his refusal to identify the terrorist actions as an act of radical Islamic terrorism.

“You cannot win a battle against radical Islamic terrorism if you’re unwilling to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism,’” Sen. Ted Cruz said last June.

“[W]e have not chosen to use that label because it doesn’t seem to accurately describe what had happened,” Earnest said.

  
  So according to Josh Earnest these men carried out a terrorist attack and they did it in the name of Islam but this is not an attack which was related to “radical Islamic terrorism?”

  Of course these men were heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” and after the attack they stated “we have avenged the Prophet Muhammad.” Their motivation was clear: these men did what they did in the name of their interpretation of the Koran and to claim otherwise is being just a little bit ingenuous in my opinion. The regime is trying to split hairs here so as not to offend by being politically correct.

  These men might not represent mainstream Islam but they were motivated by a radicalized version of the religion and by refusing to admit the truth the Obama regime appears weak to those who hold the radicalized view and it only serves to embolden them.
