The Department of Justice is not expected to file charges against Darren Wilson
It is now being reported that the Department of Injustice lawyers investigating the shooting death of Mike Brown by Darren Wilson in Ferguson last year will not recommend filing civil rights charges against the officer.
Justice Department lawyers will recommend that no civil rights charges be brought against the police officer who fatally shot an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Mo., after an F.B.I.investigation found no evidence to support charges, law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
After reports came out that the initial reports about Mike Brown trying to surrender at the time of his death were not accurate the media and many in the Democratic party irresponsibly stoked a tense situation for what appears to be political motives and continued to do so even after Darren Wilson was cleared in the initial investigation.
Eric Holder then announced the Department of Injustice would investigate the shooting as well and that is where we stand today. Now that the election is over we are learning that there is no evidence which can be used to file charges.
However this does not mean the story is over because the lawyers’ recommendation is not the last voice in the matter–that voice belongs to none other than Eric Holder and he could feasibly decide to press charges anyway.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and his civil rights chief, Vanita Gupta, will have the final say on whether the Justice Department will close the case against the officer, Darren Wilson. But it would be unusual for them to overrule the prosecutors on the case, who are still working on a legal memo explaining their recommendation.
Eric Holder is on the way out so he has nothing to lose in moving forward against the recommendation of the lawyers. It would be highly unusual but I would not put it passed him, I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next.

It must gall Holder and Obama that they can’t fit Darren Wilson into their bigoted dreams. If even Holder can’t find a way to indict Wilson, I’m pretty sure Wilson is completely innocent.
Now, after all the intemperate rhetoric from Obama and Holder, how are they going to explain to their constituents that it was all about nothing?

I agree. with the scrutiny Holder must have put on this case it must be all but certain Wilson is innocent because I am sure they were looking for even the slightest motive to charge him. I have this feeling the news will be made official very quietly, unlike the initial announcement.

Can you imagine the marching orders Holder gave his men? Find SOMETHING, ANYTHING at all on this cop! Did he chew gum the wrong way? Did he part his hair on the wrong side? Did he so much as take an aspirin? Did he ever in his life say any word we could use? They wanted him so bad, so that Obama could score points and Sharpton could collect more money. They were sure that if they threw the entire federal government into it they could find dirt. As Dr. Jeff says, it galls the hell out of Holder and O-blame-a they can’t be heroes to the protesters.

I am sure they will be keeping a close eye on him hoping he does something they can use to go after him. We still see Zimmerman’s name pop up in the media every once in awhile and I think we might see the same thing here.

If I were this cop, I would be on the next plane to Panama like so many other ex-pats. He will get some sort of pension, and it goes a long way down there. It is clear in my mind he didn’t do anything wrong. Why should he take crap about it.

I am nearly certain he did nothing wrong either and he for all intents and purposes has lost his career over this, he will never work as a cop again. Where does he go to get his reputation back?

They are not done yet with Ferguson. The investigation into the entire department is under review. They got their foot in the door, and they will come up with something.

I hadn’t thought of that angle, and I imagine it is pretty easy to find problems in an entire department, and if there is wrong doing, fine, go after it. But this “hands up don’t shoot” crap and “murder of an unarmed black man” is where they really wanted to score. The wanted to “prove” racism.

I agree. Ferguson will make an out of court settlement to save legal fees. My hunch they will have to make the department majority black. Holder’s venom will not end this simply.

I am starting to understand what the term “howling at the moon” means, i.e. a useless endeavor that produces no results. And I am the one doing the howling. It is clear that while I am railing against the misuse of authority by a biased and corrupt Dept.of (In)Justice, this country has much more important things to worry about, and I am simply a fool. BALLS! Balls? Yes BALLS! The useful idiots of this country and its MSM can’t seem to think about anything but BALLS! Ferguson? BALLS! ISIL? BALLS! Islamofascism? BALLS! Obamacare? BALLS!
