The Senate Finance Committee has asked Barack Obama to turn over all communications with the IRS
According to this story the Senate Finance Committee has sent a letter to the President asking him to turn over all communications he and his aides have had with the IRS since 2010.
Senate Republicans on Thursday asked President Obama to turn over all communications he and his aides have had with the IRS since 2010, hoping to find out whether the tax collection agency shared private taxpayer information with political operatives at the White House.
The request, made in a letter obtained by The Washington Times, is signed by Senate Finance Chairman Orrin G. Hatch and all 13 other Republicans on the committee, and is addressed specifically to Mr. Obama, saying they want to see if his employees broke the law by acquiring or sharing private information.
Here is part of what that letter said:
“We have an obligation to conduct oversight of the federal government’s administration of our tax laws,” the lawmakers wrote. “As part of this oversight, we are seeking to determine the degree to and manner in which the Internal Revenue Service shares taxpayer information with the Executive Office of the President.”
If you are a supporter of Barack Obama and you think there is nothing to the IRS targeting scandal, and it you think this is nothing but a political witch-hunt, you would do well to remember the IRS was ordered to pay $50,000 for illegally giving out a group’s donor list which was eventually made public, so there is a history here.
And of course the IRS admitted to improperly scrutinizing conservative groups, and it should also be noted that Harry Reid somehow knew what was in Mitt Romney’s tax returns…
We can only hope the outbreak of ultra-convenient computer crashes was detained within the IRS and did not also progress to the White House. But then again Barack Obama, as in the case of Fast and Furious, will probably claim Executive Privilege and seal the documents.

THEY ULTIMATELY WORK FOR THE SAME MISSION:

Yes they are on the same side and all they care about is staying in power and having control. The parties differ on smaller issues within larger issues to make it appear as if they are on opposing sides but in the end the legislation gets passed and the beat goes on. This is the Hegelian Dialectic on display: thesis/antithesis/synthesis. Create or take advantage of a crisis, create the opposition to the crisis, and then implement the predetermined solution.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder who the IRS was going to pay that $50,000 to?

It was the National Organization for Marriage, I probably should have included that.

Well, I was just thinking they would probably have to pay it to themselves. It would be just like a government agency like the IRS to do that.

Of course we do not know if the IRS actually paid the money it was ordered to and we know how Obama himself feels about court rulings…
