The IRS rehires tax cheats and people who might have illegally accessed tax records

February 6, 2015

Last April ABC ran a report which found the IRS issued bonuses in the amount of $1,000,000 to employees who were delinquent on their own taxes. If you do not remember this story you can read about it here.

Now it is being reported in this story that the IRS has rehired hundreds of people with issues ranging from tax delinquency to people with poor job performance to people who might have illegally accessed tax records.

  Here is more:

The IRS rehired hundreds of employees who had prior records of bad performance at the agency, including 141 former workers who had botched their own tax returns and others who had used their positions to peek at private tax information, the agency’s inspector general said in a report released Thursday.

Five IRS employees were rehired even though the agency knew they had intentionally failed to file their taxes within the last two years, Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George said. Of the employees with prior problems, nearly 20 percent of them had more problems after they were rehired.

In another instance, an employee who has taken eight weeks of unauthorized vacation and whose previous manager had written a note explicitly stating “do not rehire,” was nonetheless rehired.

IRS The IRS is defending this decision by stating that most of the rehired employees have not had a problem since being rehired so it is move along, nothing to see here…

And after all it is a good bet that the rehired employees are good card-carrying liberals and are not real miscreants like the conservative groups which tried to legally apply for tax exempt status for that is the only time is appears as if the IRS feels the need for extra scrutiny.

This is EXACTLY how big government “creates” jobs. The fact that such poor, unnecessary employees can have a job means it was created out of thin air. No productivity, no responsibility, no accountability. Just useless government make-work. And you can bank on the fact that everyone of them is a big time leftie hired through some “program”.

Expanding the government is the only way the government can create jobs. I find it hard to believe they could not find anyone else and had to rehire these people, it almost seems as if it is a reward for a job well done.
