The IRS wrongfully seized $62,000 from a dairy farmer

February 14, 2015

IRS Last week the IRS came under fire from the Congress, in a bipartisan effort, for seizing the bank accounts of some small businesses even though these businesses were not suspected of committing any crime. This led to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen apologizing to “anyone who got caught up in this.”

The IRS has been using a law which prohibits “structured” bank deposits under $10,000 and the law is intended to stop gun traffickers and drug dealers, however it now appears as if the IRS was using this law to target small businesses in some cases just to get whatever money it can get from honest, hard-working American citizens who are not even suspected of any wrongdoing.

A perfect example of this practice is the case of Randy Sowers.

Mr. Sowers is a dairy farmer who makes quite a bit of his money from participating in farmer’s markets. Because of the business he is in he frequently deposits cash into his bank account on a weekly basis.

According to Randy Sowers his wife went into the bank one Monday with $12,000 and wanted to deposit it but the bank teller asked her to make the deposits less than $10,000 to save the bank paperwork. That is when all hell broke loose.

Because the Sowers’ followed the bank’s advice they were making weekly “structured” deposits of under $10,000 and they were visited by the IRS. Eventually the criminal agency seized $62,000 of their money. They eventually settled with the IRS for just under $30,000 but that means the IRS is still in possession of $32,000 which rightfully belongs to the Sowers family.

Here is a video of the story:

It is apparent to me that the IRS is using this law to go after whatever money they can get their greedy little hands on without regard for the intent of the law. This does not seem like a case of people “getting caught up in this” by mistake and in fact it appears to be intentional.

Unless somebody can show me a case where milk was used in either the trafficking of drugs or of weapons I have to believe this was not a mistake and I have to believe the IRS is purposely abusing the law in order to fill the Government’s coffers.

Meanwhile, the IRS admitted that under Barack Obama’s Executive immigration Proclamation illegal immigrants will be eligible for tax rebates for years in which they did not pay taxes.

And how many times have you seen bumper stickers telling you to support small farms? Apparently the IRS does not feel the same way…

Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium.

Maybe we need to stop putting money into the banks and pay our bills in person, the best we can, like people used to do. Maybe we need to keep our money at home. Maybe we need to tell this Administration to butt out of our personal lives! We are going to be overwhelmed with illegals becoming the NEW AMERICANS and “somebody” will have to pay for them, so guess they are planning on taking what they can from the average American and dare us to say anything. This whole thing is crazy. I read an article about Jeff Sessions trying to let people know we are going to pretty much fully funding all the illegals with whatever they need to become real Americans….apparently you just do not have to go thru all the red tape when you will vote Democratic. I guess the IRS thinks this is fair, but then again they have a warped thought process of what is right and wrong. It just goes to show, if you get the right people in the right jobs, anything is possible,,,,,,RIGHT???

PAYING IN PERSON WOULD BE BETTER; HOWEVER, IF YOU CAN NOT WE STILL HAVE MONEY ORDERS. THE ILLEGALS ARE THE NEW CITIZENS, AND IT IS AMAZING THAT MOST COUNTRIES ON THIS PLANET NOW, ARE HAVING ILLEGAL CITIZENS, AND THE NATIVE CITIZENS IN EVERY ONE OF THOSE COUNTRIES FEEL THEY ARE TOO TAKEN OVER. NORWAY IS NOW EXPERIENCING ILLEGALS, SO IS ITALY, AND MUCH OF EUROPE, MOST OF THESE ILLEGALS FOR THEM ARE COMING FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND ARE MUSLIMS. JAPAN EVEN HAS A PROBLEM NOW WITH MUSLIMS. IN THE USA, OUR PROBLEMS ARE MOSTLY FROM CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA, AND MEXICO; INCLUSIVE OF, THE MIDDLE EAST AND CHINA AS WELL, THEY ARE THE MAIN ONES. NORWAY EVEN HAS SOME UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN AS WE DO. SURE MAKES YOU THINK, BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE THEY PLAN TO MAP OUT YOUR FUTURE AND MINE, TURNING US INTO FOSSILS.

Lou and futuret, you are both onto something here. Maybe it is time to leave the banks behind. After all it is not like we are getting any real interest for doing business with them!

But of course if we do that the IRS is sure to think we are hiding something from them….

If you make a habit of setting aside and keeping some of your stuff, week in and week out, you will establish a base line so that automated and casual searches don’t reveal stuff kept at home for emergencies. Emergencies like unlawful seizures or freezing of your stuff from institutions. If you had told me five years ago that this statement would exist in my mind I would have laughed at you like some tin foil hat geek. Having lived through my own experience over an error on their part about four and a half years ago over a return from about eight years ago, I found myself with out any means of getting food, getting gas to get to work, or take care of my obligations.

There are currently so many laws, more than 11,000 pages added last year alone, that it is impossible not to be found in violation of at least one any time any of the pigs of animal farm wants. To have enough ‘stuff’ to live on and still be able to move freely is an imperative for any one who believes that constitutional freedom is far superior to any form of socialist/statist government.

Yeah, it seems as if there are enough laws on the books for them to go after anyone they decide to and that is scary to say the least. People keeping supplies for an emergency used to be called “preppers” and it was sort of a derogatory term but in reality they are the smart ones.
