The New York Times blamed Scott Walker for teacher layoffs which occurred before he was Governor

February 16, 2015

It looks like there is a real chance that Scott Walker will run for President in 2016. Because of this the New York Times ran a preemptive strike against the Wisconsin Governor in a hit piece in which Gail Collins blamed him for teacher layoffs which occurred in 2010.

There was just one small inconvenient problem with this story however–Scott Walker did not become Governor of the state until 2011, these layoffs happened before he was governor!

The New York Times was forced to issue a correction:

An earlier version of this column incorrectly stated that teacher layoffs in Milwaukee in 2010 happened because Gov. Scott Walker “cut state aid to education.” The layoffs were made by the city’s school system because of a budget shortfall, before Mr. Walker took office in 2011.

  To quote Rick Perry, “whoops.”

Scott_Walker Blinded by partisan ideology it appears as if Gail Collins and the New York Times did not even bother to fact-check this before running with it because they had a goal in mind and that goal was to turn any potential momentum which Scott Walker might enjoy against him.

If the newspaper was interested in the truth this would have been an easy fact to check, but of course the New York Times is more interested in promoting the agenda than it is with reporting the truth. The end justifies the means…

Of course everyone will remember the original piece and will forget the obvious lie and ensuing correction so I guess for all intents and purposes it is “mission accomplished.”

And I thought it was only Fox News which had an agenda…

Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium.

IT SEEMS WITH EDUCATION THESE DAYS, A TEACHER AND/OR PARENT CAN NOT WIN FOR THE SAKE OF A LOSS, AND EVENTUALLY THE CHILD ENDS UP PAYING THE PRICE, FOR A NEGOTIATING A SYSTEM THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTHLESS.

Someone in Germany once said “give me a child when he’s 7 and he’s mine forever…”

THAT IS JUST ABOUT RIGHT, ONLY NOW IT IS YOUNGER, EVEN RIDICULOUSLY PROMOTING PRE-KINDERGARTEN SUCH AS OPEN COMMUNIST NYC MAYOR DEL BLASIO.

Seriously! It’s a bit off topic but I just wrote an article on that today, about the Radical Brownies. (Like a Girl Scout only way diff!). They are not selling anything but are spewing Social Justice Propaganda instead. Nice, huh? UGH!

As for Mr.Collins, always check your facts…been stung like that a time or two myself…. 🙂

You’re correct Steve. Mission accomplished. Should Walker be the republican nominee the lie will be repeated often enough that it will become the truth. Hopefully Walker won’t follow in Romney’s footsteps and forgive Hillary while reminding us what a good person she is and how he loves her homemade cookies.

Exactly Peter! This is now out there and it does not matter that the NYT issued a correction, the lie will be repeated until it is the truth…

Another hatchet job on a candidate to be. Are we the only ones who care? Yet Obama got by without any scrutiny at all. Now look what we have.

You can always tell who the Democrats and the MSM (but I repeat myself) are most scared of by who they attack!

This is about par for the course for liberals and progressives. Just sit back and watch as they try to find a way to blame Governor Walker for the layoffs anyway. Their favorite tactic is to keep repeating a lie until it becomes the defacto truth. But only if we let them get away with it.
