FCC Chairman tweaks proposed net neutrality rules after a complaint by Google

February 25, 2015

department-of-the-Internet-1024x683  Earlier this month FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler released his recommended net neutrality rules to the FCC Commissioners, who will vote on these recommendations tomorrow. The secrecy surrounding these new regulations, and the fact that Tom Wheeler placed a gag order on the FCC Commissioners, is troubling because we have no idea what is included in these regulations. It appears as if he does not want the American people to know what is in the regulations until it is too late for them to oppose the regulations.

One of the two Republican Commissioners, Ajit Pai, has been very vocal in his displeasure with the new regulations and yesterday one of the Democratic Commissioners, Mignon Clyburn, asked for the regulations to be scaled back.

This was followed by a push from some left wing organizations to scale back the regulations as well. (How they know what is in the regulations which are being withheld from the American people is a story which should be examined at a later date.) But then Google joined the fray and it now appears as if Tom Wheeler has acquiesced to the demands and has tweaked his proposed regulations.

  Here is more:

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has made some last-minute revisions to his net neutrality plan after Google and public interest groups pressed for the changes, according to sources at the commission.

Google, Free Press and New America’s Open Technology Institute last week asked the commission to revise language they said could unintentionally allow Internet service providers to charge websites for sending content to consumers. Such a scenario could open the door to an avalanche of new fees for Web companies and threaten their business models.

Google executives on Feb. 19 called aides to Wheeler and staffers for the FCC’s two other Democratic commissioners — Mignon Clyburn and Jessica Rosenworcel — to make their case, according to a company disclosure. Clyburn has been the most vocal proponent of the revisions inside the commission, the sources said.

What was once considered to be right wing fear mongering has now apparently gone mainstream. But of course we still do not know what is in these regulations or what these so-called tweaked entail –there are rumors it will also affect paid cable television–so one has to wonder what is hidden behind this veil. One thing is certain in my opinion and that is if something needs to be passed in secrecy there is not much good which can come from it.

As I recall, the courts did strike down the last couple of rules they tried to implement. By now Obama has packed the D,C court so unless it goes to the supremes or another District i doubt we will get any redress.

You are right about that. One of the issues which has gone under the radar is Reid changing the filibuster rule on some judicial nominations. This has allowed Obama to stack the deck so it is unlikely this will happen again…

Evil is very keen and insidious … no wonder it’s been around since the Garden. We’ve been eating from the wrong tree! {The reason God kicked A & E out of the Garden (after having disbelieved God’s word, ‘ye shall surly die’), BEFORE they ate from the Tree of Life, which meant they would forever being alienated from God, living in a state of sin (rebellion) with no hope of reconciliation.} We’re told we live in a fallen world under the curse, of sin (doing it our own fallen way with no regard of God and His standards), BUT some are becoming cognizant of that reality! Evil knows how to stack the deck, been doing it for generations – using willing vessels to do his bidding, which happen to be in key leadership positions.

The Illuminati believe that Adam and Eve were held captive by an unjust God and were set free by Lucifer’s promise that they would be like God if they ate from the tree. They believe that through knowledge men will become gods.

Pardon, my ignorance, but why do we need to fix something that isn’t broken?

The internet as is, has grown billionaires like tomatoes and is a great tool for the rest of us. Now what’s wrong with that?

Dr. J, it really is not about fixing it, it is all about controlling US! We know that, and they know we know that, but still they will push it thru and blame the Republicans, somehow. Go figure!

Like so many other things the Libs are doing, it’s just plain wrong. Under Obama’s wealth distribution, the top 1% are richer than ever, home ownership is shrinking, the Middle Class is shrinking and the Welfare Class is the biggest it’s ever been. That’s a pretty crappy result for 50 years of Liberal tweaks to the economy in the name of “fairness”.

The real reduction in poverty, the growth of the Middle Class and the growth of home ownership happened during the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s when NONE of the current “improvements” had even been tried. The net result of 50 years of Liberal economic tinkering has been the destruction of the greatest wealth producing economy in the history of the world.

Most of our economic troubles trace directly back to Johnson’s Great Society ideas of the middle 1960’s. Applying the same principles to the internet isn’t likely to give any better result.

    Nice while it lasted.

And this is just what they’ll telling us about. This reminds me of the joke about the body arguing among it’s members and one stating they’re more important than the others and should be in charge: http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1072993/pg1
Houston … America needs a enema injection!
Other than that, these Fiends are going to proceed regardless, ignoring the powerless, and murder anyone who’s in their way.

As I have said before, it doesn’t matter if it is legal or not. They will do whatever they wish until someone puts a stop to this craziness. It so happens, we just do NOT have that someone around that is willing to step in and pull the plug. I figure Loretta Lynch will get in as AG and then Obama will have further cover for what he is doing. It is amazing that we know so much about her background and still there were some Republicans that voted for her to be pushed thru. How does this happen? So, even if we knew ALL about Obama (which we do not), I doubt the outcome would be any different than what we have, given this knowledge about Lynch. There is a “plan” in force and they will follow it at all cost. I guess it just remains who is in control and how much money they have as to what the outcome will be. We have so few actual Conservatives in office that the RINOS outweigh them, so in essence they are ineffective. Couple that with Obama going ahead with his Amnesty plans at top speed, even though he was told to stop, we will have the allotted amount of voters the Democrats will need for the 2016 election to keep the Democrats in control. I know, you are saying the Republicans control the House and Senate, hahahaha! Ya, they sure do, looks like Reid and Pelosi are running the show and Boehner and McConnell are caving to them….it is what I figured was going to happen, but I was hoping to be proven wrong. Oh well. Guess it was nice while it lasted, now we have even less freedom than before the FCC stepped in. Exactly WHO gave them the authority to create a new law??? Oh, ya, I forgot, the Republicans did, by not fighting back!

So, we get another week for the RINO’s to badger the Conservatives into giving into what Boehner wants, the “clean” bill! What the hell is a “clean” bill, anyway? It sounds so, well, CLEAN! From what I gather, it is everything that Reid and the rest of his groupies want, ALL of it and nothing less. Forgive me if I am wrong, but why is McConnell not putting back the 51 votes needed to seal the deal and push thru what he needs to? Then let Obama veto it and after many vetos maybe people will start seeing it is not the Republicans that are blocking the votes. But, what do I know!!!!

Once again Boehner will cave, we have seen it time and time again…
