The Daily Beast forced to retract Scott Walker ‘rape’ story
With it looking increasing likely that Scott Walker is going to run for President in 2016 the mainstream media has its cross hairs aimed (can I sill use that euphemism?) in his direction.
First The New York Times ran a hit piece on the Wisconsin governor which claimed he was responsible for teacher layoffs in 2010, but the problem with that story was an inconvenient little fact which was ignored for obvious political reasons–Scott Walker did not become governor of that state until 2011.
The New York Times eventually was forced to issue a correction. This is something that could have easily been fact-checked if the author of the story was interested in reporting the truth but of course the newspaper’s anti-Walker agenda was not interested in the truth.
Not to be outdone by The New York Times, and in an attempt to keep the so-called Republican war on women narrative alive, The Daily Beast ran a hit piece on Scott Walker claiming that he was anti-woman because his budget would “cut sexual assault reporting from the state’s universities.”
It turns out that this is simply not true and, in following with The New York Times, The Daily Beast was forced to issue a full retraction of that story. Here is more:
The Daily Beast has retracted an article from one of its college columnists that claimed that the Wisconsin governor’s budget would cut sexual assault reporting from the state’s universities.
The post, published Friday, cited a report from Jezebel that wrongly interpreted a section of the state budget to mean that all assault reporting requirements were to get cut altogether.
In fact, the University of Wisconsin system requested the deletion of the requirements to get rid of redundancy, as it already provides similar information to the federal government, UW System spokesman Alex Hummel told The Associated Press on Friday.
“A Daily Beast college columnist at the University of Wisconsin based this article off a Jezebel posting which was incorrectly reported. Jezebel updated their post on Saturday with the following after USA Today [sic] published a story debunking Jezebel’s account and clarifying Gov. Scott Walker’s position. ‘UPDATE: After Jezebel ran this item yesterday, a spokesman for the University of Wisconsin came forward—over two weeks after the budget was released—to clarify: the University requested that Gov. Walker delete the requirements because efforts were redundant with their compliance of the Cleary Act. Scott Walker’s camp assures that he’s committed to protecting victims.’
The Daily Beast is committed to covering the news fairly and accurately, and we should have checked this story more thoroughly. We deeply regret the error and apologize to Gov. Walker and our readers. This story should be considered retracted.”
This is all very well and good but if Scott Walker does indeed run for the Presidency in 2016 these two issues will be used against him; everybody will remember the original stories, and they will be issues in the election, and nobody will remember these two news outlets were forced to admit the stories were false from the beginning so it is mission accomplished.
But to listen to the left in this country you would think that only Fox News is guilty of stooping to this level of “reporting” in order to push an agenda…

Wait till Walker goes for his yearly checkup. It will be reported that he likes pissing in a cup and a finger up his ass.

LOL! This is only the beginning. When he does announce it will get real ugly, real fast.

No one checked the sources because they didn’t care if true or not. It didn’t matter, the damage is done and that is all that matters.

If the light was shown on the administration (intrusively like what’s being forced into our homes and extracted without our knowing) we’d find worse things than this stunted immaturity bad mouthing – an open sepulcher. Anytime they point their finger – like the old saying – they have three others pointing back at them. Things too ugly to speak of, even in secret.

Yes, there is so much more going on behind the veil which we will probably never find out about until it is too late–if at all…

I didn’t think about the residual effect of the lying media. It really is true that you can’t un-ring a bell. But the tragedy is how easy it is for the MSM and the left to do what they want, without impunity.
