Barack Obama is interested in raising taxes through Executive Action
Now that Barack Obama does not have to face reelection, and now that the mid-term elections are over and the President does not have to worry about protecting vulnerable Democrats, we are beginning to see exactly what he meant when he talked about being more flexible.
Last week we learned that Barack Obama was preparing to use the BATF to implement defacto gun control legislation though Executive Action by banning one of the most popular rounds of ammunition in the country, and now White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest admitted that the President is “very interested” in using Executive Action to raise taxes.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is “very interested” in the idea of raising taxes through unitlateral executive action.
“The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans,” Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.
“Now I don’t want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of,” Earnest continued. “But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally,” Earnest finished.
Josh Earnest said that there is not some “imminent announcement” but he did say Barack Obama was “very interested” in this idea so what do you think is going to happen? It is only a matter of time…
Of course we all know, for what it is worth at this point, that the Constitution provides the Legislative branch the sole power to raise revenue and taxes as stated in Article I, Sections 7 and 8 while Article II gives the Executive branch no such power, but Barack Obama has his pen and his phone and he is not afraid to use either.
Can you even comprehend the danger in giving the corrupt, scandal plagued IRS the power to raise taxes!

Executive Orders are fine as long as it is a liberal president making the orders. If a President Cruz were to do the smae thing, there would be riots in the streets.

I guess he found out we have a few “reserve” bucks that are not accounted for, huh? At what point does Congress step in and remove this bastid? I can answer that,,,,they will NOT! I am so sick of nothing but negative crap on the news, I might just start watching kittah videos and just let this run its’ course with him. As to IF he is going to leave office, I believe he will and take head spot with the UN, that is what is he aiming for, isn’t it? I thought since we had control of the House and Senate that things might be different, but guess once again, I was wrong. Both McConnell and Boehner need to be removed and we need people in their place that will stop Reid and Pelosi from the running the show, as they are still doing.
I sit here going over my bills and the cable/internet/phone is going up and up and we are not getting more money to pay for it. At what point do WE become the ones that get the FREE internet? What does our income have to be for that and the free phones? Oh, what about the LINK card for food? I am getting to be really cynical when it comes to standing behind people that are buying with the LINK card here in Illinois and then whip out a big wad of cash to pay for what it doesn’t cover. I sure want to tell them “you are welcome” since I am buying it for them, then I turn around and buy very little. This is AMERICAN THE FREE?? For who?

Like you have said, we are sick of paying for everyone who IS able-bodied and sick of having our taxes raised on top of it. Sure, it looks like it is a ‘corp’ tax hike but it will be you and I who pay that ticket…UGH!!!

Why is it that the government feels our money is really their money and they have the right to take it and spend it how they want to? Because we let them I suppose. You will see much opposition from the Republicans, just as you did on Obama’s Executive immigration, but in the end they will do nothing to stop it if he does move forward on this.

You know how the Pentagon is said to have contingency plans for all sorts of remote possibilities? Like, say, what are we going to do if the Vatican allies with Canada and they invade North Dakota? I really believe we have all those contingency plans.
About 20 years ago, President Clinton asked some agency or other to look into the feasibility of imposing a one-time tax of 15% on all IRA, 401(k), and silimar kinds of retirement savings accounts. Neal Boortz, the talk radio fellow, keeps insisting that the Dems plan to do it.
It’s one thing to investigate the feasibility of an action, another entirely to implement it. Mrs. Palin did the same thing when she asked about banning books in a public library — when she was advised that it couldn’t be done, she dropped it. While I’m a bit surprised that an elected official would even ask such a question, I don’t hold the question against her after she learned the answer.
The President is exploring the extent of his executive authority — possibly a move he might not have felt necessary if the House hadn’t so intransigently blocked his efforts to govern at every turn. But being interested in learning to what degree he can influence tax policy with executive orders and raising taxes by executive authority are two very different things.

The rumors still persist about taxing 401k plans and I do not doubt that there are circles of people in the government who would like to do this at some point in time.

The only characteristic that seems to ‘evolve’ in this world is the ‘fallen nature’. The main reason these politicians aren’t being taken out is most people are prevented by their conscience (which those in positions are depending on). May some godly men and women rise up against them! It wouldn’t be so sickening, if the taxes went to benefit the whole, but we know it’s the opposite. Try a search, “Who’s blocking obama” – no relevant links show up. I think some of the search engines have been ‘manipulated’ and ‘censored’ already!
