The Associated Press is suing for the release of Hillary Clinton’s emails
Most of the people on the left seem to feel as if the revelation that Hillary Clinton set up a private server in her home, which was registered to some mystery man with ties to the Clintons, and used a private email account to conduct ALL State Department business is just another “phony scandal” and the latest example of the “vast right wing conspiracy” which has haunted her and her husband since the days of the Clinton Presidency.
But whether they want to admit it or not this scandal is not going to go away any time soon and one press conference is not going to put this issue to bed. We are now learning that the Associated Press has filed a lawsuit seeking the release of the former first lady’s emails after five years of FOIA requests have gone unanswered.
Here is more:
The Associated Press filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the State Department to force the release of email correspondence and government documents from Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.
The legal action comes after repeated requests filed under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act have gone unfulfilled. They include one request AP made five years ago and others pending since the summer of 2013.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, comes a day after Clinton broke her silence about her use of a private email account while secretary of state. The FOIA requests and lawsuit seek materials related to her public and private calendars, correspondence involving longtime aides likely to play key roles in her expected campaign for president, and Clinton-related emails about the Osama bin Laden raid and National Security Agency surveillance practices.
Here is part of a statement from the Associated Press:
“After careful deliberation and exhausting our other options, The Associated Press is taking the necessary legal steps to gain access to these important documents, which will shed light on actions by the State Department and former Secretary Clinton, a presumptive 2016 presidential candidate, during some of the most significant issues of our time,” said Karen Kaiser, AP’s general counsel.
Said AP Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll, “The Freedom of Information Act exists to give citizens a clear view of what government officials are doing on their behalf. When that view is denied, the next resort is the courts.”
What difference at this point does it make? It looks as if this potential scandal could spill over into the 2016 campaign unless Hillary Clinton quickly responds to this request so maybe, just maybe, this will put an end to her Presidential aspirations. But I highly doubt it, the left will most likely rally around her, unless Elizabeth Warren can be convinced to enter the race. If that happens there is a real possibility the left will mobilize around their new hero and leave Mrs. Clinton to wonder how she managed to blow another shot at the White House.
I can dream, can’t I? Not that Elizabeth Warren would be an acceptable alternative to me…

18 U.S. Code, Section 1924, “Whoever, being an officer of the United States, and, by virtue of his office becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.”
Maybe if she starts doing her stretch now she can get out before the 2016 election.

The need a geek Sandy Berger to stuff the emails, like he did with Bill’s documents.

May his son is the one who set up her personal private server.

It seems pretty clear cut to me, thanks for sharing that information.

I’ve been visiting the comment section on WT. The comments by dems are just unbelievable. These people are still supporting her! So many comments saying she didn’t do anything wrong, she’s going to be president, she’s handling the ‘phony scandal’ just right. I’m dumbfounded.
Just finished replying to someone who insists that the senators’ letter to iran was treason.
What are these people smoking???? My gosh, obama committed treason by aiding an al queda group. These buffoons, while maybe in bad form, didn’t break any laws at all. Since obama is jeopardizing our safety with this insanity with iran, maybe that letter helped the Country a little.

Interesting Laura. Goes to show how ‘the strong of a delusion’ some are blinded by.
Glad you’re back onboard Steve’s blog boat!

It seems there is nothing she can do, or any Democrat for that matter, that will cause the loss of support. These are the same people who slammed Bush and Cheney for secretive emails and now suddenly it is no big deal?! They are exposing themselves…

I call them on it, I point out they are being hypocrites and they stop replying to my comments, lol.

I believe Obieone when he says he first heard about this on MTV , BET or was it ESPN. After all between his “Selma” fixation and his March Madness picks who the hell has time for lying fat feminists or any other current events?

Apparently ESPN must be doing a news update nowadays because we know he was not watching Fox News.

I watched her body language more than listened to what she had to say. She did not want to look at anybody and she kept to script. She looked anywhere BUT in the eyes of anyone listening. This is what I would call “shifty”! She stated what she wanted and after all she is Hillary Clinton and everyone was supposed to take her at her word and that should be the end of it.
That reminds me of when I was taking a petition around to keep a factory (light industrial) out of the neighborhood. One of the houses I stopped at, the lady that answered the door said she could not sign it…then she added “don’t you know who I am?” I answered no that I did not and she said “why I am Mrs. Sims. The subdivision she was in was Sims Edition, so guess that made her important, (in her eyes) and I was just supposed to be in awe of her, I guess. Well, I was not and I just went to the next house. My point is that some people just have that feeling of grandeur and Mrs. Clinton seems to be one of “those” people. I do not trust her, but I know there are people hell bent on making her the nominee as there are ones on the Republican side going to push Jeb Bush….neither are good for our country.

My mom made the same observation, lou. Hillary looked at the questioner, but then looked down at her notes or up and around, not making eye contact with the audience. I think that’s shifty, too.
My gosh, Clinton or Bush….not again, please, not again!

I only watched a few clips online and I also thought we could tell quite a bit from her body language. Shifty is a great way to describe what I saw!

Well if Ben Gazi is measure of anything; the fact that there is nothing there has no meaning to the Republican’T Party efforts to waste USA government money on chasing a pipe-dream wish, then yes this “scandal” is not going to go away any time soon. America’s WatchTower does realize that President Obama and Secretary Of State Clinton had nothing to do with the CIA operation in Benghazi, right?
“… the Associated Press has filed a lawsuit seeking the release of the former first lady’s emails after five years of FOIA requests have gone unanswered.”
Good luck with that. Just out of curiosity, “What exactly is America’s Watchtower hoping will be found in Mrs Clinton’s emails?”

Corruption has a way of finally being washed clean…when that will be, who knows!
The old adage of “lie, deny and make them prove it” has been strained to the maximum with this group of children in OUR house. Some people chose to ignore what is right in front of them and cover for what is plain evil. Shame on them!
